What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I picked this one up out of the mailbox today. It was shipped Thursday and I wasn't expecting it yet. I mailed a knife to California on the 3rd via Priority Mail and it was not received until the 11th. You never know.

Thanks, Kennywoo for selling me this wonderful pocketknife. My first knife with bocote covers, but not my first houndstooth.

I like it and it looks perfect.

Beautiful, Ed!

I carried a blade very similar to that all day today, but it's a bit modern to show here.

It's a real beauty and the lines and proportions are exquisite. I have been thinking about a slim trapper. Having seen that one, I might find myself wanting just a bit more size here and there than the standard slim trapper offers. Thanks for sharing it with us.

Thanks, guys and gal. I was honored (and surprised) when Don decided to name the pattern after me.

I had asked him to build me a trapper with a little more heft than the slim trapper he is so deservedly well known for building, gave him a couple of ideas and left the rest in his more than capable hands.
Couldn't be happier with the outcome.

Wink, wink Sunfish Forge :-)

Yeah, I noticed, and even googled what a Sunfish is. But I thought it was kind of funny:
Since English isn't my fist language, some words are just names to me, even if they are borrowed from something else. So sunfish was just a knife-pattern and it didn't occur to me that it could be a real fish :).
Or as a boy I knew all these military planes with really cool names like Harrier, Osprey, Blackbird etc. Years later I realised that those are all just birdnames. It was kind of disappointing :D

Back on topic, it's the Geppetto's turn.

Well, perhaps we can un-disappoint a bit. Planes are often called "birds" by pilots. And the "Blackbird" was not named after a bird. "Blackbird" was an unofficial nickname which derived from its color.

Nice knives fellers

Carrying my Maserin Sodbuster and Boker Stockman today :)

Following up with some more great stag...

Recently I've been carrying the GEC 2011 EO (and it has gained a great patina), but today I'll be carrying this Remington jack and that great caplifter Jack Black gifted me some time ago.

I'm curious, isn't the edge now pretty serrated with such a deep etch on a scani grind?
Thank you and yes it is, it does have a slight micro bevel that does not show up in that pic.

Fine choices all around.
Thank you sir.

Today is a Rounder model(4.25 closed) from Jerry Halfrich. Twist Damasteel blade, small roses Damasteel integral frame, and stag(which I dropped on a rock the other day, small scuff but all is fine). Paul Long sheath with full quill ostrich inlay.

With the exception of the color of the scales, and shape of the insert on them, the 2011 forum knife and your posted sword brand, they could be twins?
Very nice knives here folks. :)

I was just thinking the same thing Todd. I wish they'd use that wicked little clip as a secondary on more patterns.

Some real beauties today gents. Love the stag

Three great knives Tom. Glad the cap-lifter has been of use ;) There'll be another going in the goody-bag that's going with my giveaway knife for sure :)
