When I was at UI, a Marine Aviator met me at Willard field, and took me up in a T-28 Trainer. After some barrel rolls, and other aerobatics, he let me take the stick.
Luckily, he took it back for the landing.

But one memory I regret missing happened while I was up at Chin-Be-Gota Boy Scout Camp. My Dad’s cousin owned a P-51 Mustang that he kept at Willard Field. He took all my younger siblings up one by one for a ride, and I missed it!

My lunch today - Tiny Tot Sardines, Blue Cheese, Pickled Artichoke Hearts. Washed it down with buttermilk. Thank goodness for this kind of junk food - easy to chew/gum and most of the time swallowable.
