Very handsome Gary😎👍
Thanks, Jack. It was a beautiful day here yesterday. It was nice to see the sun.
Sorry to see that damage to your bread knife, Jack! Yesterday when I was taking that pick of my Boker it slid off the tractor, bounced off the mower deck and left a couple of dings in the former pristine Walnut handle.... Oh well.....
Love that K'roo!
Nice to hear about the weather buddy, but sorry to hear you got some dings in your Boker ☹️ Thanks a lot for the kind words Gary 😊👍
Hurricane Lee is stirring things up here on the Jersey shore.

Stunning pair Bob 😎 Stay safe 👍👍

Here in Western Mass. the rain has finally stopped and some nice crisp air has moved in. The Dog is happy about that. Bucklite 424 and Sak Walker.

Queen City Cozy Glen that I broke out last fall after having it in a display case for several years. While I carried it some last fall not nearly enough.

One thing I really like about it is the main blade is super thin 1095. I imagine it would work great on small game.

I’m heading out to dentist in a few minutes for a filling and some periodontal deep clean. I wanted something comforting in my pocket while they torture me.😂DC4A28DA-AEC2-4063-9324-11DA27942636.jpeg

Headed to town to the "Lazy B" a choke and puke hamburger joint. They have a plate with BBQ pulled pork, diced/chopped coleslaw, and soft french fries (chewable/gummable for me) and covered with a nice BBQ sauce. It's really good and I like to stop in when my swallow is working. I'm gonna carry this A.Wright version of a Bunny Knife.

Having a cigar for my last night shift this hitch. Camillus 23 I got a couple weeks ago.
It’s a sorta strange knife. I was under the impression they were all carbon steel, but both blades on this one are stainless. Oddly enough it seems that one back spring is carbon as it is patinaed to a motley black while it’s mate it shiny as a new nickel.
Yes, that’s weird. Are you positive the blades and one spring are stainless? If carbon steel is given a high polish, it can look like ss…
Here are my three. 0FCA3C92-416D-4CE6-B846-23F87FCCBB4D.jpegThe two on the right are used and carried, and sport patina. The one one the left, even though it’s from pre-1950, was never used or sharpened, and being highly polished, could be mistaken for ss.
But looking at the the spine, there is some peppering, aka: corrosion caused by off gassing of it’s nitrocellulose scales. I think that rules out stainless?27ADEABD-3EAB-4392-8877-1F0FCF918326.jpeg
I suppose, being much newer, there’s a possibility yours was made during the Camillus End Times, and that could explain the mixing of types of steel. Any evidence that it had been taken apart? Like by someone replacing blade(s) or a spring?

Anyhow, it’s an interesting piece of Camillus history, and a super fine knife in the hand. I hope it serves you well!
Well thank you Jeff. They don't make music but they ought to hold together (if not I used hide glue on the cracks so it's serviceable, unlike modern yellow glue).
I need one of those hats like yours, very practical in this climate. Army surplus?
Hide glue had worked for centuries, so it has passed the test of time.

Yeah, Vietnam era US Army surplus. I treat it with Otter Wax to make it waterproof si I have a rain hat.
I have a couple of current boonie hats that my son wore in Afghanistam that I’m fond of too. Very practical headgear, especially for those of us who’ve had a bit of skin cancer carved off our heads.

Compelling pocket knife, Will. With a nice handful of stag. 👌

I saw T the Kidd’s 23 and changed today’s totes.17BD6E38-16EB-498C-9578-17CC68F9A55F.jpegE2083D9B-4E50-42B6-ACB1-024196F98551.jpeg

Sorry, but I have to show y’all this weird squash I cut this morning. My friend who gave me the seeds said it was some kind of giant zucchini, but I don’t think it’s any kind of summer squash. The skin is a super hard shell, like winter squashes have. I put it over my shoulders like an oxen yoke. It’s 4’6” long🤪67469359-B20F-4039-B3BF-8A0E9A85C428.jpeg

Nice looking trio you selected today.
The hats are awesome. I like the otter wax application.

I don’t see any signs it was ever disassembled, pins are round where they should be and polished flush on the bolsters and almost invisible. All of the polishing looks even and not over buffed like an unskilled hand will often do. I’ve cut several things that generally will quickly tarnish a carbon blade, a sandwich with mustard, an apple, pickle, etc and not the slightest color change. You very well could be right about it being an end times product, the main has a little back and forth play on the halfstop and the pen sits pretty low when closed.

All in all still certainly a useable tool but not the best they ever put out. I may end up giving it to my son, the pull is light enough he can use it easily and it won’t be the end of the world if he loses it.

I’m a big pocketknife guy and like the idea of the 23. But I may have to find something better executed to make the permanent rotation, I’ve been spoiled carrying GECs for nearly a decade now.

Curious about the taste of the squash. Normally when a veggie gets that size the taste is not that if a smaller one. Hopefully it has good flavor
