I'm carrying my K'roo Waboom Lamb again today (thanks Rufus1949 Rufus1949 ), and Random Tuesday has handed me a Nicholas Nichols Pocket Cleaver, gifted to me by @Reaper AL (Hope you're doing OK Al )

Interesting pairing!

So pleased I decided to work on my opening technique after watching some videos.

Its more of a curl of the thumb so pushing almost straight and less chance of snapping a nail.

I have also cleaned and oiled several times, then last night after cleaning under the tap I oiled it and put it on the radiator so the heat would make the oil run easier.

It made it even better.

Now I can open both blades with ease (better than with a pick) even without looking.

Its now a pleasure to open and close.

What a terrific knife this is.

In some ways, knives are machinery and they do take some 'running in' Many can arrive sticky and resistant, spending time cleaning them out a couple of times and oiling, then using a lot really pays dividends. As you've noticed  Lot of satisfaction from a pocket-knife with great action, it's what they're supposed to do!

Thanks, Will
