In some ways, knives are machinery and they do take some 'running in' Many can arrive sticky and resistant, spending time cleaning them out a couple of times and oiling, then using a lot really pays dividends. As you've noticedSo pleased I decided to work on my opening technique after watching some videos.
Its more of a curl of the thumb so pushing almost straight and less chance of snapping a nail.
I have also cleaned and oiled several times, then last night after cleaning under the tap I oiled it and put it on the radiator so the heat would make the oil run easier.
It made it even better.
Now I can open both blades with ease (better than with a pick) even without looking.
Its now a pleasure to open and close.
What a terrific knife this is.
