What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks David :)
Thank you Jack!
You look very dapper :) My maternal grandfather was a wire-weaver, and the other was a builder, and later worked on the railways. Neither would have left the house without a cap, and a collar and tie, and always wore them under their overalls. Even when I started work, as a mechanic, in the 1970's, several of the 'older men', in their 30's, wore ties

Have a good day everyone

In addition to my Hartshead Barlow, I'm carrying a Random Tuesday Solar Barlow from @1970

Good choices!

After a day like yesterday, I definitely found a “soda”. A Sierra Nevada IPA of some sort. Thanks, the pliers are fencing pliers. They’re made for pulling and cutting barbed wire, putting on wire clips, and pounding fence staples into wood posts. Moore Maker makes good ones. My son got his cast off today but didn’t skate. He was hitting baseballs off a tee in the backyard when I got home, then we played catch. I love that his doctor told him he could skate as long as he does tricks that he won’t fall doing. I imagine he’ll skate tomorrow. It’s been lonely skating by myself.

Awesome eureka you’re totin ’ today. 👍

Thanks Harry. Yes, it’s a fence stretcher. More frustrating day than tough. We were preg checking and vaccinating some cattle and a few heifers balled up in the corner of the holding field after they came out of the chute and ended up busting through the fence into another field. Rather than trying to bring back a few crazy heifers, we ended up pushing all the cattle into that field just to get everything together. Then had to fix the fence in the two places they went through.
Nice soda you found.
Glad your son is back to normal. Had to be tough on him and you.
Glad the fence repairs worked out. I recall fence repairs. Where I repaired them, there was always concern with eastern diamondback rattlesnakes. The cows always busted the fence where the grass and briars were the thickest. Good times.
Planning to carry these later after pre-op CAT scan on hip...more trouble than the operation.View attachment 2335910
Full replacement, I guess. I hope it goes well

First time in Cardiff, meeting up with a Air France air stewardess I met i England last year.

Its hard keeping up with her she has a lot of energy, walks very fast and is younger (send help 😁).

On day one we’ve seen most of the city, from protests outside the Welsh parliament to punk exhibitions and rock and roll bars.

I am exhausted.

I took my Bantam with me.

Anybody else feel that their day is not complete until we get an update on the (mis)adventures of Johnnythefox Johnnythefox and Modoc ED Modoc ED ? Highlights of my day … which may be a commentary on my own mundane, but blessed existence!?!

I toted this one to the truck this morning, and that's as far as it made it. I turned around and took it back inside. I just couldn't stand the thought of losing it.

Oddly enough, I remember the exact day I saw this knife for sale on a particular website (not sure if I can mention it) many years ago and absolutely falling in love with it. Listed in the details was "Made by Great Eastern Cutlery". I had no clue who GEC was, no clue about knives in general, and I certainly didn't have enough extra cash to buy it back then.

Long story short, I've been at this (knives) for 3-4 months now and things just came full circle. I never thought I'd have the chance to own one of these.

Wish I had a cooler picture for ya, but I "toted" an empty pocket to work today.
I’m glad you were able to circle back and get the knife you wanted, Chris.
I have to pick up papers for our annual Guardianship Report at the county courthouse, which means leaving my knives and Leatherman in the car before going through the scanner. And in the short time I’m in there, I feel naked.
Carry and use that knife!

Hmm. If it’s a hip replacement, I hear good things from friends who’ve had it done.
Just think how impressive your drives on the links are going to be. It will make the recovery go faster.😎

Mundane is a blessing in itself, my friend.😉
And yes, my mundane mornings includes checking the weather report, and then checking out posts on the Porch from where I last left off. Eventually nature calls, and I have to get out of bed. And while I make coffee, breakfast for the girls, pack a lunch for my daughter, fix her hair, and tie her shoes, and of course, dig through the cigar boxes for whatever knives I want, all of you put up five more pages I have to look at.

I love mundane...had enough drama in my life Jeff.

I have heard good things about the procedure too. Except, a person I play with, had an old one pop out. New one seems fine he said.

Nice digging...you hooked some nice one's today.
