What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I’m lucky to be enjoying this morning with a big cup of coffee. I do hope everyone facing health challenges does well. When covid hit I really missed hanging out at my favorite brewery. I still miss the socializing a bit but now I enjoy the folks here thank you and this hobby I took up. I stopped drinking during covid and definitely feel healthier. I sure hope to never give up my morning coffee. I do like the caffeine.
Here’s my HJ I’ll be taking on errands today. Those interior mammoth covers have some stuff going on. I see some weird Innsmouth type faces sometimes. And other times outlines vaguely reminiscent of mysterious regions of Antarctica. Even saw some Teddy’s rocking out in there a week or so ago. Too much coffee.

Sweet knife Kurt👌
Can you send me the name of that special coffee you are drinking?😁

It’s going to be a beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! Nothing special on the agenda for today. Keeping me company the usual lamb and with a nod to Thrifty Thursday the OT19 or as GT calls it, “Lamb Shark”. 😀

Dan sf fanatic sf fanatic Just a curious question after all the time you've been posting pictures of your neighborhood - do most of your neighbors use their garages as garages/shops or have they converted them to living spaces?

Ed, I’d say that it’s about half and half. Technically it’s against city code to use a garage as a living space but it’s not enforced. In a pinch I could park our car in the garage but that would require me to clear up all the stuff we’ve accumulated over the last forty years. Some day…🤷

Appreciate it, my friend!

The Breacons look to be hauntingly beautiful, and if ya don’t dig the way the finish wears on an alox SAK, ya got a hole in yer soul.

Nice little whittler, Mitch.

This one’s quite a treasure. Thanks for showing it.

Well if that’s not a threp in ta steins.
(Probably splelt wrong, my Yorkie is lacking)
Feel better, my friend, and tell the Tool Man he’s on his own today.
Sorry that should be (Brecon) Beacons I inadvertently made it into an abbreviated name. 😁

A lot of our military train there including the SAS.

Carrying two basic knives, often overlooked by the latest-and-greatest crowd. Each has some fine virtues as a handy tool.
1- Case Copperhead Wharncliffe 6249W SS: love the wharncliffe as a main blade (often need to cut something straight); nice feature is the half-stops (more blades should have these IMHO); love the scales too, but they can be fragile (two lights cracks developing on off side)
2-Buck Stockman 371 - blades open easily, blades are perfectly ground and sharp from the box; FF is excellent, though I always lightly sand the scales on Stockman to smooth the square edges of the scales and lower the slightly protruding pins. Did that on this one.

Fistful of heavy duty and thrifty Gumfuddy there, Bob.🤙

I am currently taking heat daily from Mrs Fleschwund. She wants her inside parking place back. A few weeks ago, I pulled my woodworking bench, oscillating spindle sander on it’s stand, and various other bulky tools so I could resume work on some guitars I’m trying to build. Even though we have a 2 1/2 car garage, I have to figure out a more efficient way to use the space.”My side” is filled with a huge stack of lumber (friend has a sawmill🤓), a weight rack and Chuck Norris Total Gym, my daughter’s big adult tricycle, the snowblower, camping and fishing gear, plumbing and electrical supplies, on and on. I did manage to offload several trips worth of stuff to donate to my daughter’s day program’s rummage sale.
They say if you haven’t used it in the past year, you should toss it, but I just KNOW that’s a guarantee that I’m going to need it. House, vehicle, and garden tractor maintenace means you gotta have stuff to fix them. You don’t want to have to buy a new sewer snake every time there’s something in the soil pipe halfway between the house and the septic tank!

I agree Jeff, keep it all or get ready to by new in a month or two.
I always open my wife's shoe closet when this discussion ensues.😁

Oh no ! I hope you feel better soon Jack 👍
Thanks Steve 👍
Useful pair Bob 👍
Thank you Mr. Jack and I was sad to see you laid low with Covid. No knife to show ? 😊 😞🤔
Thanks Mr P, I have barely had the energy to get to the bathroom these past 24 hours, so photos have been a low priority 👍

Thanks for the kind words Jeff 😁👍
High Carbon Cattle Knife, made by Camillus for Sears, Roebuck, which I enjoy using. Four blades, and beat up and over sharpened enough that I don’t feel the neef to baby it. Also my Farm & Field Bull Buster.View attachment 2337126View attachment 2337127
I’m done canning salsa and tomato/vegetable juice, so as they ripen, I bring the stuff into the kitchen to eat as fast as we can, or give to friends. I have to check them every day since they can start to rot quickly. Those get eaten first. No, not the rotten spots!!
Ready for lunch…View attachment 2337168
Part of the wonders of nature, when there’s fresh produce sitting around the kitchen, we get fruit flies. A little apple cider vinegar in a mason jar traps scores of them.View attachment 2337169

Y’all have a fine day, my friends!
Great pics 🙂👍
