I’ve never handled a Buck 112, hey~ I’m still young.Case 18 and Buck 112...Happy Friday
THE Browning was a gift from my Brother In Law. He’s a “knife guy”, but leans toward the modern side. I often wonder if he ever uses the traditiinals I’ve given him…Thank you very much Jeff !!!! Yes , I do carry what ever I feel like and I have a few that I like to choose from . Don't think I have ever seen your Browning . It looks to be a pretty handy knife .
Harry
Thanks for the pic. I also have a 2nd HC that looks like the one on the left.Thank you Jack!
Verah nice!
Nice Sowbelly
Thanks Jeff! No the SB Cattle doesn't have coined liners. Here's a pic of the SB Cattle next to a HC Cattle.

Ha! It’s like being a musician, Bob. When she asks why I need another guitar, amp, effect pedal, I just say “You knew I played guitar when you married me!”To the first part...it is blind ignorance.
My Barehead is a Cattaraugus Jeff.
Please stand up for our rights as husbands to clutter.![]()
Nothing to do but look at Blade Forums, right?LOL! I'm laid out on the sofa Bob, been awake for about 3 hours out of the past 48
Sounds like fun, hope you have a great time buddy![]()
Thanks for absolving my sin!No worries, Jeff.Yeah, Paul’s alright.
Nice trio. That KA-BAR reminds me a bit of GEC’s Angus Jack they did a couple years back.
Yeah, it was a bit excessive.I’d had the #77 and #93 the day before, then I thought, “I should grab a Lambsfoot” before I left the house yesterday, and I had dropped the little shop knife in my pocket because I just got it in the mail and I wanted to get some pics of it. I simply forgot to subtract anything as I was adding.
You might be ok. I think most places (including the NHS) now suggest 5 days of quarantine after a positive test. Hopefully you’re still able to go!![]()
Swiden Key doesn’t get much love, but I think it’s a pretty elegant design. But being a ham handed oaf, I didn’t know how to disasemble/re-assemble one, and just yanked it apart, and then drilled it out.Gotta luv the XL stockman. They so handy - and sturdy.
That IXL is a beauty.
My "largest" are only just 4.625 inch closed; 3x Old Timer 858's.
1 vintage 1978~1984
1 BTI Offshore 858OT
1 BTI Offshore 858OTB.
The OTB is my in the pocket carry from Thursday, for at least the rest of the month.
I may stick with it for a week or so into next month, or swap it out for the vintage 858 "sometime" between 10-01 and 10-07.
The offshore 858's have one "improvement" or "upgrade" (IMHO) over the vintage one: NO DARN SWINDON KEYS! They have standard pin construction.
I figure if Swindon Key construction is so great, the current owner of the Schrade family of brands would still use it. Also, since the patent is long expired, other cutlery firms would use it.
Admittedly, I am probably mistooken about that.![]()
But you have to go to work to be able to afford trips to the mountains!I should’ve stayed in the mountains instead of going to work, it was a week from purgatory!!! I had the Case with me everyday at work. Today I’ll take the Bunny Knife to Costco, the post office and a few other errands.View attachment 2338288
It’s funny. In the guitar building rabble, they are obsessed with all black ebony for fingerboards, which is harder and harder to get. Luthier supply houses sell dye to blacken less than pure black ebony. But the ebony Wright put in your Lamb is stunning.
Nice. What varieties are you growing, my friend?
Can’t wait until you don’t have to buy them, right?
That is a gorgeous Lion Knife!Jess Horn for Beretta by Moki and a perfect example of a Loewenmesser 1147

Very nice!
Does the gravel pack better when it’s wet? I’m sure there’s less dust.It rained most of the night and is raining right now. Perfect day to grade the front driveway - gravel and dirt. This stainless GEC 2AB won't mind riding in a damp/wet front pocket. Sausage and whatever else Cindy prepares for breakfast.

Good one. Mechanics have a love/hate long term relationship with their Snap-On man.The others I picked up, at the same time, were even worseThe worst thing is that they CAN do better, they just don't care

I'm glad the fall didn't chip or crack the boneDings and scratches usually polish out OK
My AF and Metric spanners were Britool when I was an apprentice mechanic (Whitworth's had been my uncle's, and were older). I had one Snap-on ratchet spanner, lovely tool, but it took me a year to pay for it!

Thanks ! I've read that Martin stopped dying their Ebony boards and bridges again like they did some years back. It’s funny. Always good therapy!Nothing to do but look at Blade Forums, right?

Now that is a stylish paring JJ.
Yes, that's right, but I certainly wouldn't fancy the journey feeling the way I do nowGot my fingers crossed, and hoping to start feeling better soon

I’ve yet to coon finger the Angus Jack. Does it also have a swayback handle like the Whaler? More importantly, does it sing and ring on the snap like an old Kabar?
Good looking chef's knife Barrett. It seems to afford you several different grips when in use.For sure. I think the stipulation on the 5 day recommendation is if your symptoms have improved, no fever, etc. Hope the next couple days bring a big improvement!
I’ll bring one to Janesville next year. It’s GEC’s #86 pattern, so it’s a straight-sided jack, or a sleeveboard… whatever you’d call the #15, #77, etc. Pretty good snap to ‘em, not the best I’ve seen from GEC, but pretty good.

Hanging out at the house today watching the Razorback game. Same knives in my pocket at yesterday (Albers Lamb, #77 Barlow), but I’m also CE’ing and CF’ing my new chef’s knife from Uinta Knife Co., which I picked up at a small knife local show yesterday.

I’ve been looking for a good chef’s knife for a while, but hadn’t found anything that checked all the boxes for me. This one’s just the right size (8.5”), comfortable handle, easy to hold in a pinch grip, and has a full flat grind that’s thin behind the edge. If I could make one change, I would prefer a carbon steel blade (this one’s AEB-L at 62 HRC), but that wasn’t a deal breaker. These are handmade by a guy here in Minnesota.
The Big-un you were kind enough to send me is one of the good ones. Thanks, I think there were 10 standard Lambs, and 10 Big 'Uns, at least half of them had off-centre bladesI gave almost all of them away

Thank you Steve, I do feel better than I did yesterday![]()

They've been so vague about here, barely anyone knows, and many don't even careFor sure. I think the stipulation on the 5 day recommendation is if your symptoms have improved, no fever, etc. Hope the next couple days bring a big improvement!
Try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people if you or your child have symptoms and either:
You can go back to your normal activities when you feel better or do not have a high temperature.
- have a high temperature
- do not feel well enough to go to work, school, childcare, or do your normal activities
If your child has mild symptoms such as a runny nose, sore throat or mild cough, and they feel well enough, they can go to school or childcare.
You are no longer required to do a COVID-19 rapid lateral flow test if you have symptoms.
But if you or your child have tested positive for COVID-19:
- try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 3 days after the day the test was taken if you or your child are under 18 years old – children and young people tend to be infectious to other people for less time than adults
- try to stay at home and avoid contact with other people for 5 days after the day you took your test if you are 18 years old or over
- avoid meeting people who are more likely to get seriously ill from viruses, such as people with a weakened immune system, for 10 days after the day you took your test
