What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Another foggy start to the day in the City by the Bay! Looks like it’s going to burn off early. Hopefully Meako and I will be getting our package from Spark today 🤞. In the meantime keeping me company the usual lamb and with a nod to metal Monday a Solo SAK. Have a great week folks! 😀 Oh yeah, 4-0💥

A lamb and a Solo - two of my favorite knives. Both extremely utilitarian, and yet quite beautiful in their own ways. Nice combo.

It’s a great day when the Bucs beat the saints. 😎🏴‍☠️View attachment 2341407
Cool pic Todd :)
 pic of your HHB Jack!
Thanks pal :)
Pulling the catheter is best done quickly, like pulling off a bandaid.
Sorry you had to back out of the blade show, Jack. Were you going as an exhibitor, or just common rabble like me…drooling and coon fingering everything, hoping to find something you can afford?
Thank you Jeff, just common rabble my friend! 😁

One was a kind gift from @Chief, the other was a $6.00 investment at the fleamarket. The ancient dried grease and grime made it look like a junk knife. And it hid the fact that it was a #68 made before 1950.

Have a fine day, friends.
Great-looking pair
Thank you very much, Jack!!!

It looks like you have some competition for your Hartshead Barlow beauty from the green guy 😲; a very cool action shot!;):thumbsup:
Thank you very much JJ :) He should know I've squished bigger! :D ;) Belongs to one of my friends' kids :D
Giraffe lamb and appaloosa NW today. Almost time to grab the rake 😔.

Barrett, when Vik and I first met at UI, we both liked photography, and lugged our 35mm cameras everywhere. We now have a huge stash of photos stored in a closet. Scanning is a great idea, and may be the answer to what to do with them.🤙
Regarding photos on the phone, those are not permanent. When Apple forced out a major security update a while ago, which was touted as being absolutely essential,

My Iphone told me it did not have enough memory. And the singlemost culprit was my photos. I had to delete hundreds of photos ~ mostly daily knife photos. I only saved pics of family and friends. I was surprised at how many pictures I’d taken of things I was taking apart to repair so I could remember how they went back together🤪

Yes, the majority of the photos we all take on our phone are of little importance in the long run. And they do take up A LOT of storage space. I think just about every time I’ve bought a new iPhone, I got one with twice the storage space of the last one, just to keep up. 🙄

When it comes to knife photos, I have a bad habit of taking a bunch and then looking through them for the best one. I’m only ever going to use the one, but do I immediately go and delete all the others? Of course not (though they are the first thing to go if I’m trying to free up space on my phone).

I do make a point to regularly back up my phone to make sure the important photos (along with all the riff raff, I suppose) are safe. I don’t own any other camera, so every picture I’ve ever taken of the kids, for example, was taken with my phone. And whether it’s me or them, someone’s going to have to go through them at some point and separate the important stuff from all the rest. It won’t be a fun task. I currently have 51,646 photos on my phone. 😳

Locking Knife of the Week is a Holub linesman's knife with a hawkbillish blade. Might be a "stretch" for this locking category, but it does have the standard linerlock on the screwdriver blade (that someone, sometime, modified into a sort of Wharncliffe blade).

International Knife of the Week is an olive wood Joker that I bought in Valencia, Spain:

Was missing my dad a bit, so I got out his old knives and gave them an oiling. The Imperial used to be a tackle box knife and lived in his tackle box till I found it with melted scales(hence why they are missing).

The fixed blade is an old Estwing he found at a lake in central Kansas just sitting in a toolbox that floated down his way. So he brought the knife in and rescued it and handed it down. The stacked leather handle and guard are a little loose though.

Side question, would anyone be able to point me to people who could rehandle/refurbish either of those knives?.

The pen is fairly new, but is developing a nice patina if I don't say so myself.

Great to have some tangibles from a person important in your life.
Hope you can bring them back to life.👍🏻
