It definitely is, the desk it was taken on he built by hand as well, so daily nice reminders.Great to have some tangibles from a person important in your life.
Hope you can bring them back to life.

The only way I’m able to keep track of the days is that Sunday I get the privilege of playing guitar live with a real good band, Tuesday is men’s Bible study, Monday, Wed, and Fri my daughter goes to her Adult Day Program, and Tues and Thurs evenings I drive her to her workout and swim groups. If it weren’t for those scheduled events, I’d totally lose track of the days. Thanks kindly.
Every day's a holiday when retired Jeff....they all seem to run together. I will hide it till the 31st.. my daughters birthday.
Those Camillus' are ageless
Thanks kindly JJ.![]()
Jack, I think of you as UNcommon Knife Nut Rabble. In fact, I’d wager your collection could put many dealers to shame.Cool pic Todd![]()

You’re pretty smart. That’s a great idea.My solution is to have an older android phone with SD card. I transfer my newer photos to it. If needed, I just add a new SD card.
How I know what is on the SD cards is a totally different story.![]()
Looks like street tacos from one of those little taco joints. Mmm.Tied up with my yearly Dr. checkup this morning, so no pics with the usual Critters, just a quick after appointment snack. Wishing everyone a nice day today.

Locking Knife of the Week is a Holub linesman's knife with a hawkbillish blade. Might be a "stretch" for this locking category, but it does have the standard linerlock on the screwdriver blade (that someone, sometime, modified into a sort of Wharncliffe blade).

International Knife of the Week is an olive wood Joker that I bought in Valencia, Spain:

Nice to have things that tie us to those who are no longer with us.Was missing my dad a bit, so I got out his old knives and gave them an oiling. The Imperial used to be a tackle box knife and lived in his tackle box till I found it with melted scales(hence why they are missing).
The fixed blade is an old Estwing he found at a lake in central Kansas just sitting in a toolbox that floated down his way. So he brought the knife in and rescued it and handed it down. The stacked leather handle and guard are a little loose though.
Side question, would anyone be able to point me to people who could rehandle/refurbish either of those knives?.
The pen is fairly new, but is developing a nice patina if I don't say so myself.
I think unicorn ivory covers are gorgeous. They look very classy and even more so in person
My pleasure.
No youngster here, but still dread Monday and celebrate Thursdays. 4 day work weeksI get a kick out of the youngsters who have to work dreading Mondays, and celebrating Fridays.![]()
I agree, tangible memories are a real comfort.Nice to have things that tie us to those who are no longer with us.
I like that Estwing. If it were me, I’d wrap the blade in a piece of leather to protect it, and put it in the bench vise. Handle pointing up, guard right down on the vise jaws, and the jaws cranked down tight on the tang. Use a ball pein hammer to whack the pin on the pommel to tighten it all up. The leather discs dry out and shrink, which is why it’s loose. This will also tighten up the guard if that’s loose.
Sand the leather a little, and treat it with neatsfoot oil, and good to go.
Very cool that you have knives from your Dad!Was missing my dad a bit, so I got out his old knives and gave them an oiling. The Imperial used to be a tackle box knife and lived in his tackle box till I found it with melted scales(hence why they are missing).

I admire that Imperial fish knife, and with the covers missing, it's a perfect candidate for the Metal Monday thread!
