What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Probably my favourite Case knife to date (excluding the Tony Bose collaborations)...

It's been a while, but I thought I'd carry this pair of knives. A very good combo for everyday. Why would anyone want to carry a multiblade knife when they can carry two single blade knives like these? :D

The wharncliffe trapper is from Jason Baker (give away) and the mini copperlock is from Wilgoy (a gift). Thank you both!

Taking my toolboxes(with the help of the Snap-On truck) to a new shop tomorrow, to start on Monday. A new chapter of sorts. Sipping some tea with a Jerry Halfrich Hidalgo in my pocket...

I bought a Queen Canoe that arrived with absolutely no snap to the blades. The seller graciously offered to take it back, but I couldn't see sending him a knife he couldn't sell (he's a pretty good guy), so I sent it to Queen for repair. Maybe six weeks went by - and today I got this in the mail. Queen sent me a new knife, sharp and solid in all respects.
(Still struggling mightily with the camera.)

I have to start by saying I have not had it long enough to judge if I like the blade steel. I actually think I need to leave the houndstooth at home to give it a chance ;). I will however carry on a little about the fit and finish and such and say that this knife is of great quality. The walk and talk is very nice with all the tools being easy to pluck out but still a very stout snap into place. They have better retention then a few customs I have held in the open position as well. The awl is just fantastic and is already getting some good use. I always wanted the farmer to see how well the saw worked if not just for emergency purposes. Almost daily I need to cut a little sheetrock to get a piece to fit in tight (walls are never straight) and sometimes I do not have my tool bag handy. I learned first off that you do not want to jab that blade but use the awl to make an entry wound ;). While I wouldnt use it daily it does get the job done nicely and is a good backup to the proper tool. The blade will probably be the least used item on it down the road but It is great to have the belly if needed(when paired with the 55) and just nice to have a beater blade if I NEED to cut something but dont want to mess up my edc too bad. I already dont notice it in the back pocket. At this point I feel pretty safe telling you to just go ahead and get one if you think the tools would be handy. I would have started with a silver one but appreciate the upgrade my family gave me

Thank you VERY much for that thorough report! Look forward to hearing more. Next time I can find one of these in person I will have to give it a try!
