Sorry, I often show you the same knives, but these are the ones I particularly like and use.
I really like the Case Tribal Lock (thanks to
Have a nice monday
The BladeForums.com 2024 Traditional Knife is available! Price is $250 ea (shipped within CONUS).
Order here: https://www.bladeforums.com/help/2024-traditional/
I am getting flashbacks now after seeing this photo.Wonderful knife, José! Artistic blade etch and attractive handle!
Jack, the Remington is an excellent knife, but the Winchester definitely is lacking in "build quality."
Jeff, I meant that those two canoes are "good old American brands", but like Schrade, the names now belong to companies that have the knives made off-shore. I think the Winchester is especially misleading, since one tang stamp seems to indicate US manufacture with "Winchester Trademark USA"

but on the other side of the tang we have a model number and true country of origin:

Thanks for the feedback, Will.
I think the searching you did was time well-spent, José; it's a winner!
You're welcome, and I hope you get back on 2 wheels ASAP!
Thanks, Jack. She's getting around fairly well on foot in the house now, but I think I'll be her chauffeur for at least a couple more weeks when she must go anywhere by car (doctor, physical therapy, vet appointments for dog, Covid and flu and shingles vaccines).
Glad you found the info about Randy of interest, Jeff.
I know what you mean about the challenges of keeping up! I spent quite a while as a new BF member without ever posting or even regularly scrolling through the Totin Today thread. But I was probably a participant in many more "short-lived" threads in those days. Once I tried participating daily in the Totin Today thread and the Guardians of the Lambsfoot thread, my BF "obligations" became much tougher to keep on top of. (In fact, I finally gave up being active in the Guardians thread for quite some time now, much to my dismay.)
Terrific trio, Jeff! The spey blade on the Case trapper reminds me that I find many situations in which I'd like to use a serrated blade, so I'd like to put a "category" into my rotation for Serrated Knife of the Week. But I have only one folder with a serrated blade that I can think of.
Handsome trio of Half Moons, Mike (or handsome 1.5 Moons)!
Is the bottom one horn or some kind of acrylic?
Thanks for teaching me something, John!
You have some very small spanners there; 12 mm isn't much wider than the width of the end of my little finger, I think.
I'm pretty much worn out just reading about it, Mike!
Your Winchester stag whittler is wondrous, Jim!
Thanks, Bob; I'm quite fascinated with my rotation myself, and welcome your fascination, but we may be an "odd couple" here at BF in that regard!
Glad you like the medium stockman, Chris!I came to BF as a multiblade pocketknife guy with little use for (or experience with) single-blade knives, but I've come to appreciate the charm of a single blade (starting with a Sodbuster Jr). My chestnut medium stockman, with square bolsters, is a pattern I'd probably not have purchased if not for its chestnut jigged bone covers. (Mine also arrived with substantial blade rub, which is apparently common for Case stockman patterns, but it irks me.)
Congrats to you and all the other members taking delivery on their new 2023 Forum knives!
Thanks, JJ.
Outstanding pair of knives, Jack!
Cherish the Churchill (even in nonstandard colors)!
Thanks, Todd. They certainly did have a series like that, although I don't remember what patterns were included. Here's a photo of the box in which my lady leg knife arrived:

And speaking of "lady leg", here's what my wife's right knee has looked like for the past 2 weeks. We're hoping the staples get removed Tuesday.
I asked if she'd like to keep the staples until after Halloween, but her reply is inappropriate here.

Thank you, it's a "Jacknife" by Jérome Bellon, mosaic damascus bolster slipjoint, patinated guilloche carbon steel spring, polished deer bone handle. Length 19cm, blade 8.7cmMarvellous that big one, like the bolster. Is that Warthog?
Thanks, Will
Blimmin' 'eck!I am getting flashbacks now after seeing this photo.
Tell your good wife there is a big advantage to staples and I wish her well with the recovery.
With the knee I had stitches in a nurse came to my house to remove the stiches after I had been discharged from the hospital.
I was lying on my bed she was pulling with a pair of pliers I was wincing and almost crying/passing out with pain.
She was telling me little kids and old dears made less fuss than me,she stopped short of calling me a big baby.
After 15 minutes of torture she said wait a minute and she went into my living room to make a call, all I could hear was a furtive call and various colours being talked about.
It turns out I had dissolving stiches in my knee that where knotted both ends and not supposed to be removable, they are colour coded as well.
Ive never been the same since...if only I had a pen knife on me she could have cut them out...![]()

You have brought it back nicely Wayne.I am starting to really like this little Richards knife, it's good in hand and pocket, and quite capable. I will be doing a bit of painting for the rest of the week and will put the cap lifter to the test, I will take the regular can opener as backup. I don't want to hurt it. I must be going soft. If it has a good week More TLC might be in order.

Aaah, the promise of what’s to come. Mine are nearing the end, but I still have some big ones out there that I hope will ripen before first trost, and more cherry tomatoes than I can pick.. We were under a frost advisory last night, so I brought in our three house plants, and picked my peppers and tomatoes. My second planting of peas are about three feet tall, and not even blossoming yet, so I may have started them a few weeks too late. The second crops of spinach and lettuce aren’t bothered by a light frost, so we will still be eating salads for a while. But we’ve escaped the frost ~ for now. Saturday, I picked at least 30 lb of tomatoes to give away at church, mostly cherries. I’ll show you a picture of some of the two pounders in my kitchen.Haven't Had the buck out in awhile.
My tomatoes are coming along.

With prices like that, maybe you should plow up your entire yard, and plant jalapenos! Thanks Bob,
The wife is waiting impatiently, loves tomatoes. I staggered them so we should get a good supply fingers crossed
I'm hanging out for my jalapenos, cost around $28 $29 a kilo at the shops.
Don’t apologize. Your photos are always a treat. Greg is a generous guy!![]()

I really like the Case Tribal Lock (thanks toLeslie Tomville for introducing me to them) and this one in particular.

Out of impatience, and not wanting to bother with going to the doc to have stitches removed, I’ve done it myself. Snipped wth Swiss Army Knife scissors, and pulled with Leatherman pliers.I am getting flashbacks now after seeing this photo.
