I always scuff up a mirror polish with emery cloth.

We've all seen too many good men killed after being blinded by the glare off their own pocket knives.
Words to live by!:thumbsup: 🤓

Don't see many of those beauties posted here!:thumbsup::cool:

Heading to Tennessee tomorrow. The current travel pile, subject to change
View attachment 2347211
A potent pile! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
You never have difficulty transporting synthetic ebony across state lines?

This stag stockman again. It’s got a bit of California Cool to it

View attachment 2347292
Very cool indeed! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
(If it had rounded bolsters, it would have Universal cool, not limited to California. ;))

You’re going to Tennessee with only eight knives? May god have mercy on your soul
😁😁

Schradurday, and first Saturday of the month, which means cooking for a group of men (and my daughter) at a local church. Feeding them biscuits ‘n gravy.
Shot taken at the end of my driveway on the way out…
View attachment 2347367 Not a Schrade, but got my Russel Green River from @sunknife for kitchen duty.
Schrade 33OT that I bought new in the ‘70s, and carried alongside my yellow Trapper for decades.
And a Schrade194. Bought a package deal of two for about ten bucks. The OldTimer had a mint blade, but broken spring. The older jigged delrin 194 had a strong spring, but broken blade. My first experience with messing with a Swinden Key. Driiled it for a pin.
Got great snap, and the blade is ~close~ to being centered, but I messed up a little so that it opens a tad too far. Oh well. I like it ok anyway....
Looks like an ideal trio for your volunteer breakfast cooking, Jeff!:cool::thumbsup:

W😲W! What wood on that lovely lambsfoot!:cool::cool:

I've enjoyed seeing that 2-blade stag toothpick several times since Saturday!:thumbsup::cool:
I don't know anything about revolvers (and I'm too old to learn), so I can't comment other than to say that about 65 years ago I had a cap pistol that looked similar to your Smith & Wesson.

It’s a beautiful fall day here

Really admire that double-ended spoon you've been posting lately!:thumbsup::cool:
Is that the knife you used to make it?

Your cattle knife is a champ!:cool::thumbsup:

A Lambsfoot for today. :)
Congrats on the new (?) stag lamb, JJ!:cool::thumbsup:

...
Sorry to hear that Gary, a shame they're not made in the USA anymore :(

Glad to hear it Gary, I hope to see her in the Blue Bell some day ;) :D

LOL! :D I've got similar staples over my right knee. When I went to the hospital to get the staples removed, they couldn't find the remover (not much different to an office staple remover), so I offered to take them out with my knife! :D

...

Starting the week with a Double Lambsfoot Day! 🎉😁 Have a good one folks

Time marches on with regard to where knives are made, I guess.
Jack, my wife still doesn't see her passing up the Blue Bell as a "missed opportunity"! o_O🤓
Prestigious pair of lambs, Jack!:cool::cool:

I am getting flashbacks now after seeing this photo.

Tell your good wife there is a big advantage to staples and I wish her well with the recovery.

With the knee I had stitches in a nurse came to my house to remove the stiches after I had been discharged from the hospital.

I was lying on my bed she was pulling with a pair of pliers I was wincing and almost crying/passing out with pain.

She was telling me little kids and old dears made less fuss than me,she stopped short of calling me a big baby.

After 15 minutes of torture she said wait a minute and she went into my living room to make a call, all I could hear was a furtive call and various colours being talked about.

It turns out I had dissolving stiches in my knee that where knotted both ends and not supposed to be removable, they are colour coded as well.

Ive never been the same since...if only I had a pen knife on me she could have cut them out...🤣 🤣 🤣
Jack & John, I hope you don't mind that I didn't share your entertaining memories of stitch/staple removal with my wife until AFTER hers had been removed Tuesday!:)

I concur. Maybe I ‘ll bake a home made pizza for supper!
Did you make a pizza last Monday for International Beer & Pizza Day, Jeff?
We ordered a pizza (for my wife) and a calzone (for me) during the 30% discount "happy hour" at the bakery outside our back door on Monday. I think of a calzone as kind of a "omelet pizza" that just gets folded over. I've been enjoying leftovers all week!:thumbsup::cool:

Thanks Gary, had a great weekend. Our furnace has been on and off also. 😄
That time of year, Todd. We had to drive a couple of hours east to a vet cardiologist yesterday morning, and then a 2+ hour return trip in the afternoon (lots of construction zones on the interstate), and the car heat/AC went through its whole range over the course of the day!

Thank you very much Gary, those are great pics of your Joker
Beautiful Horn on your Joker !
Seriously handsome knife Gary!
Fantastic horn covers on your cool Joker!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks for the kind words about the horn on the Joker I posted this week. :) I have knives with blond horn and with black horn with some nice "feathering", but I like that brown/blond horn I posted best. The photos turned out really well, too, given that they were taken indoors at my office with some old fall leaves and acorns that had been sitting on a bookshelf for at least 3 years!🤓

That's a real beauty, Gary! :cool: :D:thumbsup::thumbsup:
Thanks, JJ. :) I'm a fan of the stockman pattern, but that humpback variation with the spear main is a nice "change of pace".

Love the Red Trout! Wish I would’ve had the foresight to pick up a couple of those (or even just one) back when they were available. Especially a sheepsfoot one. Oh well.

Good to hear your car was deemed roadworthy! 😁

Great no-nonsense pair right there.

Nice couple of BF knives there, Jeff.

Pretty cool old Lambsfoot, Jack.

Good looking knife! At first I was thinking it was a #23, but I didn’t recognize the wood/shield combination. Now I’m thinking #73 in Osage Orange?

Fancy pair, Paul! 🙂

🤣🤣

Hey, wearing basically the same thing every day really takes the guess work out of it, big time-saver. 😁

Sorry to hear about your daughters injury, Dan, but glad to hear she should recover ok.

That one never fails to make me laugh! 🤣

Randy! It’s great to see you here! 🙂 Hope you’re doing well.

Nice pic. I’m usually pretty good a recognizing bass guitars, but between this pic and the one in the Guardians thread, I still can’t quite place this one. Looks good, though!

Interesting pattern and some good looking wood.

That sounds nice, Paul. 🙂

Great slip, very fitting! 😁

Come on, Jeff, everyone knows you just hand the bass to your worst guitar player. 😉🤣

Just kidding, of course. 🙂

Rainy day carry (old pics because it’s dark and gloomy).

Verah good pairing!
Picked up this battered CV 1-dot 6231 1/2 awhile back. Great solid knife to carry around the homestead today. It was a productive trip to town yesterday. We bought two twelve packs of Scot's Septic Safe toilet paper and a few bottles of hand sanitizer. What with the resurgence of the new strain of Covid ya never know. ?????? for breakfast.

Good eatin right there!

Thanks, Dan!
I too, am trying to cut out carbs. Not full keto, but working at it. Big difference in types of carbs. I’ve switched to steel cut oats over rolled oats. Better form of carbs. The ones I’m trying to get out of my diet are the processed white flours.
I alternate between a few weeks of keto (or almost keto) and a few weeks of just cutting the refined carbs and white flowers like you do.
Refined carbs were killing me ... literally.
I feel so much better now and able to do things that I used to struggle to do in younger days

Sorry to hear about your daughters injury, Dan, but glad to hear she should recover ok.
Gracias Barrett, appreciate the kind words !

Toting my Canal Street Stockman today
