With all these Maher & Grosh showing up, it makes me wonder... Did I miss something?

Also, how does one sign up for the spoon drop?

LOL!So, a German and an Italian walk into a bar .........
The bartender asks, "What'll it be gents? Brews and Bratwurst? Brews and Pepperoni?"
I forgot the rest of the joke, if there was one.

Excellent pairing Jack. Your 15 has seen some pocket time.![]()
Thanks pal, that's great newsA fine combination of cutlery today Jack.
All is good, getting close to kicking walker aside.
I can understand you needing a break StuartThanks, Jack, I'm glad to be back and doing just fine. After we lost Ron/HalfStop and my wife of 43 years passed, I stepped off the Porch to catch my breathe. All's well now. If I was doing any better, I'd need to pay somebody. Lovely lambsfoot, BTW.

Thanks buddyLove that pic, Jack.![]()
Cool pics Barrett, and a great pairing thereThis morning I noticed this guy just hanging out behind the house.

I wondered if he might be injured; while he was obviously keeping an eye on me, he didnāt seem skittish and made no move to get up even when I got closer. (I got close enough to take that chair down off the railing and get some closer pics.)

Eventually, after I had stepped back toward the house and Scout and I stood there for a bit so she could watch him, he got up and walked off, and didnāt seem hurt or anything. I guess he was just indifferent.

Iāve got my Albers Lamb and a #21 Bull Nose in my pocket today. Yesterday we got a new roof, after a full summer of going back and forth with the insurance company and roofing contractor. I had originally called out the contractor to look a minor issue, but he pointed out several spots where there was hail damage on the old shingles and suggested I called the insurance company. In the end we got about 2/3 of the cost to replace the whole roof covered by insurance. Considering the old roof was probably only a few years from needing to be replaced, I donāt think thatās too bad a deal.

Quality!I'm totin' these two today, just in Case, as they say.

Sweet pairing Steve, those are wonderful pics
I have the same edition of The Big Sleep!Lovely afternoon, the Sun was out and it didnt feel to cold.
So I hopped on my bike and rode over to a nice cafe that I know has a bit of a suntrap outside seating area.
It was Tuesday but I am a rebel so walked down Friday street and I didnt even care.
Looked in a few old shops and bought a book,I hope the patter matches the film.
- Carmen Sternwood: You're not very tall, are you?
- Philip Marlowe: Well, I, uh, I tried to be.
- Vivian: You go too far, Marlowe.
- Marlowe: Those are harsh words to throw at a man, especially when he's walking out of your bedroom.
- General Sternwood: How do you like your brandy, sir?
- Philip Marlowe: In a glass.
A bit cooler riding home, but any sun now is a bonus in England.

Too right, I had the one one the right bounce right up to me!I would definitely rather be startled by a raccoon climbing out of my trash can than a buff kangaroo doing the same!![]()
It's a great thing to do JonThanks so much Jack. We had a wonderful time. I love getting the kids out in the woods and away from tech for awhile.
I always love seeing the Waboom! Great photo of it.
Thank you Gary, that's a Turkish hazelnut, there are a few trees down the road from me. I'm the only person who picks themExquisite ebony, Jack; that gunstock looks very classy in black!
What is that vegetation behind your Guardians Lambsfoot?
Fine pair of knives Mitch
LOL!I'm not posting it over there to find out.
I'd say it's pretty close, but I think the point is too long in relation to the blade, and the descending curve is too gradual. It's also close to a Case Wharncliffe, which is close to a TEW lambsfoot I've got, which Jack has called atypical. It isn't a sheepsfoot or a coping.
Considering how off the wall so many manufacturers are with their names for blade shapes, normal and bizarre, I try not to worry about such things.
I's a short French blade.
But thanks. I like it too.
Terrific trio Kurt
Nice to see one of those Kevin
Many thanks JJThank you very much, Jack!!!![]()

Carrying my Unity Lambsfoot, and a GEC Not-A-Lambsfoot!Have a good day everyone

Thanks Steve, one of my favourite old LambsThat Unity is a real beauty !
That's interesting JerAmong others, of course.
I've been meaning to warn you all that the short blades on this open and close against constant pressure without an opening and closing snap.
However, the spike has developed an opening snap, and perhaps the rest will follow.

Looks good BarneyI didn't set out with this knife this morning, it was in my jacket pocket. I decided not to swap out for something different. I enjoy the patina on this one more than most of my daily carries. whilst taking the dog for a walkView attachment 2359821 I was looking for Penny Buns, cannot work out if I am to early or have missed them altogether.
Very nice Mike
One could make a strong case for honoring that old boy by putting it to use.Back in its element, this ol guy is out of retirement! (The knife not me, ill work till i die) View attachment 2358972

Did you post that bonus picture of your 293 just for me?
Pardon my ignorance, Paul, but your photo makes it look like the new BF knife is the same size frame as the Orchard Gem.
Taking each one on a case by case basis, each one is a standout.
Couple of nice ones, my friend. You can probably get by without a blade with a little belly on it.
Classic Jack, Joseā.
Nice pair for an autumn walk.

Thatās big, indeed. But supremely useful for almost any job. Hope you can bond with it.Decided to give one of the 163's a day or two. I put a razor edge on it last night but it still looks a bit rough from previous owners sharpening attempts.
It fits perfectly into the side pocket but it is a big knife at almost 4.5" closed. .75" thick at the butt end and that giant shackle is 1.125" wide. Very well made knife, though. This one is cocobolo (pretty sure) while my other 163 is much lighter (perhaps walnut).

It's only been a couple hours and I'm thinkin' this is better suited in a toolbox or a belt pouch!![]()
