Yep. Ducky is now retired from bathtub duty. He partially survived a stnt as a bb gun target for my boys when they were younger hellions, and now resides by a stump. I check on him once in awhile.

Whenever I realize a regular has not posted in a while, I say a quick prayer that they are ok. Sometimes, as Jack said, they have passed, and other times they’ve suffered a life changing event as you have. Please accept my condolences in the loss of your dear wife, and thank you for letting us know about it ~ and for re-joining us.
I’m glad you’re happy now, and squared up with your new life. I went through that when we lost our son. It takes time, but happiness returns. Now, I see an expression on my daughter’s face that’s a dead ringer for her late brother, and I get a warm memory. I hope you’re at that point as well.

Taking each one on a case by case basis, each one is a standout.

That’s big, indeed. But supremely useful for almost any job. Hope you can bond with it.
And yes, that Schrade steel takes an incredible edge.
Mine has not darkened as yours has. And it’s easy to tell the handles are Black Walnut. Yours may be the same under that “patina”??

Visited a Case store at a mall in Nashville many years ago and was able to pick through a stack to find the best available yellow CV trappers. Got this one and a similar large. The large is a bit too large to carry regularly but this one gets the nod at least once a week.
