Beautiful gift from Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 . Straight out of the mail and into the pocket. I made all my kids examine the finer points of the knife until they were rolling their eyes at me. I even made my daughter’s best friend admire it. She didn’t know what the heck was going on, but my daughter quickly said…”it’s normal…he gets this way with a new knife.”

I’ll echo what others have said, nice to see you back, John. Glad to see the lambsfoot still getting carried.

Good to hear from you Bart. Hope all is well with family and herd.
Nice photo.
Thanks Bob. Everything is good here. We’re all happy and healthy and staying busy. Hope you’re doing well.
Nice choice, Bart... and welcome back. ;)
Thanks John. Glad to see the sense of humor didn’t go anywhere.😁

Thanks Bob, thankfully I don't have to rake 👍
Me neither, since I got a good leaf blower.😎
Visited a Case store at a mall in Nashville many years ago and was able to pick through a stack to find the best available yellow CV trappers. Got this one and a similar large. The large is a bit too large to carry regularly but this one gets the nod at least once a week.

I could wax poetic about the wonders of Delrin. Especially yellow delrin. Ever notice the differences in shades of yellow between Case, Schrade, Camillus, KA-BAR, Frontier, Sabre, Imperial…?😁
I know Woodstock - been there several times. I'm rural Grundy County about 100 miles south of you
Ah, you’re not all that far from where I grew up ~ Kendall County.
Thank you, my friends... and for the warm welcome back. 🤠
I started to say Welcome Back, but was afraid I’d jinx it and you’d disappear again.🫣
Packing to go chase roosters (aka pheasants) in South Dakota for a few days. May need a shell-puller for my older sxs, 16 ga. on one side, 12 ga. on the other.

Got a lot of my wife’s family out there, including a rancher north of the Hills, where it seems like nothing’s changed since Sitting Bull days.
I should go bird hunting out there one of these days…

Thanks for the reply! It is very very useful!

I think this one is the cocobolo. It's listed with that wood in the older catalogs. When it came to me, the covers were chipped up and very rough. I sanded from 150-400 and then polished with red rouge... there's no patina left. It polished up really well like rosewood. Very hard.

Here it is next to the other one, which seems like walnut to me. Very pretty covers on both.

These things are very exceptional for a hard working "utility" style knife. The wood, the fit and finish, everything is excellent. The pull is perfectly smooth. SW really put a good effort into these knives.
Always glad to learn something more about Schrade history, so thank you!
I had just figured they had always used walnut on that model.
Guess what I’ve pulled out to use tomorrow. I absolutely love that knife, especially as you say ~ silky smooth, but no nonsense power in that spring. And it’s got that old time ring to the snap.
Its the #384 Bunny Knife today. I am coming down with something nasty. Going to take it easy and hope that I can kick whatever this is quickly. Hope everyone else is having a good week!

Here’s hoping you nip it! Nip it in the bud, as Barney Fyfe says.

I like those flat nose spoons, they seem like they’d work great in cast iron or on the griddle. You do nice work! 👍
That’s very kind of you! I’ve never made this shape before. It happened by accident because the wood decided my idea sucked and thus the one on the left came about. Then I tried messing around with the shape a bit.

These spoons are all rather small, but when I size one up I’ll report back on how it does on cast iron, as that’s what we cook on in my house!

Thanks, Jeff. You oughta go. It's an impressive landscape. And the rural communities could use your ducats.

Well, good day all! I can get to these easily and appreciate the variety of blades they provide.
The rwl34 of the kroo is tough to form a patina on.

Stunning pair Bob
Home sweet home from five days in Florida for a nephew’s wedding. Sure was nice seeing all the extended family. But an outdoor wedding in 90f temps wearing a suit and tie was brutal.
Then, a couple of days with our son and his family up in Vero Beach.
The last time I swam in the Atlantic Ocean was up on Long Beach Island in New Jersey, years ago. The water was much warmer in Florida. And the surf was really worked up. Anywhere from ankle deep up to waist deep, it was very difficult not getting knocked down and rolled around. Just getting out a ways was not easy. Once I got out farther from the beach, I was able to time the bigger waves and do some semblance of body surfing. I’m glad no one was videoing that.

Anyway, reunited with my knife drawer.
Two Jacks, the BF, and an old Robeson. And the Green River Russel from @sunknife Greg.View attachment 2359908View attachment 2359927
