What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great pic of that Swing Guard Duane

John Petty Pen and Maserin Sodbuster for me today :)

The 6332 is my favorite vintage Case. Perfect size, perfect blade selection, and half-stops. And as far as I'm concerned, you can't beat the old Case red bone.

My dad carried this one for the last 30+ years of his life, has seen hundreds of thousands of miles riding the rails. The backside scale is broken off, he sent it to Case who informed him it was not covered by warrenty that it was abuse (I agree, it ain't a hammer). He loved it so much he wrote his name on the backside then filled it the missing scale area with epoxy and continued to use it. I bought him other knives, but he would never use them, this one was his "one". I love the half stops and remember him sitting at the dining room table cleaning his fingernails with it. I thought about sending it in and getting it fixed, but then it would no longer be "Dad's knife" as he left it. I have stropped it and carry it on special occasions. Seeing yours made today a good day to carry it.

Chief, wonderful knife and story. Thanks for sharing. Can we see a pic of your dads handy work on the backside? I am just into that kind of thing and would love a peek :D

ETA:
Yesterday I added the farmer to my pockets when I continued on with my wood floor. The saw was the perfect tool for one spot and I was VERY happy with the 55 and how well it cleans out wood from some of my jamb cuts. I am liking this combo more and more.

It is time to say Goodbye - at least for a week until friday :p :D

The whole next week my trust GEC #66 Serpentine Jack and the Case Peanut will be on my side while I´m away from home because of work...

Sure thing. A little hard to read thru the yellowed epoxy and printed upside down in the pic, but since it's the way he left it, that's how it'll stay. Pictured with his other railroad watch, something I got him that he used.
