What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Might be an exception, but this particular import will stand toe-to-toe with domestics costing four times as much. My first Ram's horn slabs. Lke very much the translucent aspects, especially in sunlight.

My two favorites as of late. My well loved Peanut and my Boy's Knife which has taken on a slight patina after yesterdays evening picnic. I like the way it's shaping up.

Schrade 34OT. I inherited this one from my maternal grandfather. He was financially well-off but never over-indulged with respect to knife purchases; he always bought quality names (Schrade, Boker Tree Brand) but focused on good steel rather than "bling." When I received this one it was in tough shape; it had a nice patina but there was a lot of pitting on the blades and it was full of "green" pocket lint (copper leaching out of the brass liners I imagine). I cleaned it up and stripped the blades down with some fine-grade sandpaper. I managed to get a working edge back on it but nothing near shaving sharp. I was considering sending it out for sharpening but when I learned my grandfather always hand-sharpened his own knives I figured I'll just keep trying on my own 'til I get it right.

Greg, you might do some reading over on the Maintenance and Tinkering Forum. There's a whole passel of folks over there who just live to help fellas learn how to freehand sharpen.

This Böker is with me today... while recovering on the couch from a very very long and wet evening... ;)

It does indeed, Steve (it is from 1973). Thanks for the admiration, I'm very pleased with it myself!

The 6332 is my favorite vintage Case. Perfect size, perfect blade selection, and half-stops. And as far as I'm concerned, you can't beat the old Case red bone.

WOW! Four pages to catch up on.
Very nice knives everyone, including Andi's new Tree Brand. Oh, and HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY Andi. :)

This one also was with me today, finally the clouds let a bit and gave me some light to play with ;)

641113 Babylon Yellow :D

That did this one right Thom, swing guards can be tricky I guess, and I prefer them tight when open, this one is perfect. I perved on these as soon as there was a hint of them, these covers have all kinds of swimming pearlescence going on in them...the blade however is a locker at 3-1/2 inches from the front edge of the guard to the tip...might be sketchy legal wise for some jurisdictions...

Thanks guys...off to the races to find one as nice as your examples :D It is so hard to find stockmen with half-stops!
