What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Quite the combo Jeff. Looks like you have a great companion.👌
Here in Jersey we have a problem with black walnut trees.
Thousand Cankers Disease? Yeah, it’s worrisome.I planted a LOT of Black Walnut when we moved here, and I’d hate for another invasive disease to kill them.
Thanks, Bob!
Best batch I have made in a long time. Spice level was a 8/10, but I was nervous for a while it would end up too spicy. I enjoy spicy, and this ended up being just fine.

I am always amazed at how complex and rich the flavors of the chilis turn out to be after the paste reduces in the pot. Just finished eating another bowl for lunch today. Thick, rich and hearty.

I took your lead.
Used up my last gal. bag of poblanos, and threw some of my cayennes in there, too. And the last of my tomatoes.
Probably going to be too hot for the girls. Well, there’s leftover strlirfry they can eat😎

You’ll probably cringe, but I like a lot of beans in my chili, red kidney, and three other kinds. Garlic, celery, and onion, too🤫
Oh, A bunch of my smoked pork, too.
In a true sign of the apocalypse, SWMBO has decided that it’s time to decorate for Christmas!?! We love Christmas and its traditions in this household, but it’s 10+ days before Thanksgiving! I did succeed in making sure the dining room stays in its Thanksgiving splendor, but I imagine that as soon as the dishes are cleared, the Christmas Village will appear!! So it goes …

Anyhoo … it felt like a Proper Sunday. The Gold Class doesn’t get out often, but the Micarta is a frequent EDCer. I love the detail on the Gold Class with the Mokume bolsters.

Oh boy! She’s got it bad, brother.
We’re hosting a bunch of family for Thanksgiving, and Mrs. Fleschwund is focused on cracking the whip on me to get the house ready.
I just finished painting the railings and woodwork on the staircase, and now I need to put up trim molding in the bath I re-modeled.
Gonna smoke a turkey the day before, and a huge beef roast Thanksgiving morning.

I cringe at the thought of getting up on the ladder to pull the Christmas boxes down out of the garage rafters.
That is a good temp for sweatpants. We're had a light frost this morning. Only down to 29. Winter is coming though.
Looks like Manny enjoyed the pets.
Sounds like you have a unique tree my friend.
Nice guitar, if it is acceptable to call a Telecaster a guitar
Telecaster is best guitar, my friend.
Manny is a lover boy!

Good looking pup. I like how the pair matches the color tones of your guitar 😉
I did not plan that!
I think it's time to clean the truck windows.

Aw, it’ll rain soon😎
Love the Wards!
What do you figure, Camillus?

Ok, it's no more cane day. To celebrate, I have a give away.
I only ask that you are a regular visitor to the porch( I retain the right to acknowledge your status). No congrats please.

He or she who is closest to guessing month and day of my wife's birthday will win both knives. ( Case '65-'69 and custom Waboom Margrate). I will announce winner on Tuesday.
Post guess and I will acknowledge with thumbs up.

I apologize now if this takes up too much space. I really don't know any other way.View attachment 2388476
My guess is November 13.

The chili sounds good and spicy

Almost, but it’s a 1908 Colt. However, it’s still from the fertile mind of John M. Browning. The bottom pistol is the Model of 1931 known as the Baby. In the immortal words of Obi-Wan Kenobi, “an elegant weapon for a more civilized age.”

Thanks for the correction, and the added photo! I just saw the .25, and took a guess.
John Moses was a true genius. I’ve got two of his humpbacks in 12ga ~ an old Browning lightweight A5, and a Remington M11. And a Series 70 Colt .45 that I rebuilt.

Of all my guns, (not that many), that .45 is the one my wife can shoot the best.

I hear you!! We host all the holidays and the level of preparation gets harder and more time consuming every year. I relate to the Christmas Vacation line where Clark Griswold asks his dad how he did it every year … ‘I had a lot of help from Jack and Jim … Jack Daniels and Jim Beam!’ 😜🤪

Looks beautiful there Greg, sounds like you had a great time. 😎👍
Thanks, Todd. It's maybe my favorite place to be in the fall, 7,200 hundred acres of hardwood ridges, pines and CRP fields make for plenty of room to roam. The campground itself is under towering pines and uncrowded with a carpet of soft white pine needles covering the ground.

Thanks Jeff. It's a nice knife. 🤠

Nothing about this Stockmn reads Camillus to me. I really dont know who made it. The overall frame and blade layout reminds me of a Queen #9 Stockman. The Shield and spey blade make me think Winchester. But, I dont know at the moment. 🤔

Can't believe I've never paired these two before, my biggest slipjoint and smallest (and sharpest) fixed blade. I'm pretty pleased with myself.

But I'm way more pleased with this guy, who I took to his first Cub Scout meeting today. He took right to it! I've been trying to get him to go, without seeming pushy (kids push back), for about 18 months now. Huge sigh of relief, and I'm all puffed up with Dad-pride. 😁. Looking forward to hopefully years of helping him with merit badges and outings with the troop.
That’s awesome FC. I hope he enjoys it. Lots of learning and fun and memories ahead for both of you 👍
