What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I grew up in Aiken…never saw a cat like that! Wow!
Apparently they're around. DNR says they're not officially living here, they're either "just moving through" or people are mistaken when they say they've seen them.
I've personally seen one on the interstate a few years back. I believe we have more than just one or two. I've heard quite a few stories about them being around over the years & this big one is proof at least one is currently right in the middle of the state. (This one was off of exit 44 on I20 if you're familiar with the area)

That was my 15' Royalex Camper, by Old Town, on the Mackinaw River in Illinois, 2008. I had a mouse pad made with that image. Sadly, both of my canoes and my skin-on-frame kayak moved out about 5 years back. My wife would worry herself sick every time I headed out to the water. It just wasn't fair of me to do that to her anymore. I stick to mountain biking now, but that seems to be limited too, since my mishap back in July of this year. Can you say HEMATOMA? I'm pretty much afoot at present. I still ride, but am re-thinking my off-road riding. When my leg gets back to its normal size, we will see what happens.

I weigh 12 pounds less than I did when I graduated basic training in 1968, and am active and in good shape, but it seems Agent Orange has finally caught up to me. A heart attack in the fall of last year, two stents, and a progression to A-flutter & A-fib seems to have put her on edge regarding my solo outings on the Trek.

Any old mountain biker can fall down a hill... It takes a special sort of mountain biker to fall up a hill.
Pedal Power all the way. Electric is for light bulbs.
I refuse to get old. "LIVE LONG & DIE YOUNG"
You’re an inspiration. Thanks for this post.
And aint it nice having someone who cares about us?
stick with these two for pocket carry a while longer.

Still have the Huntsman and Hercules on belt, and the Toferner hung from neck.

Slingshot holster is attached to Nova Traveller Rollator's wire basket. (repurposed chew "tins" of ammo are inside the basket.)
Be a real shame if someone shot that teevee in the dayroom with their slingshot…

Ok, last post for now. I swear I am not trying to monopolize the thread.

Here is my freshly and inexpertly restored (by me) Imperial Providence Barlow. I definitely learned a lot on this as it is the first knife I have ever restored from the ground up. We will have to see how the next restore goes, it is a Kamp King also from Imperial of Providence.
Very nice. I’ve modded, and repaired a few, just a few ~ and learned something with each one.
It’s a cloudy and rainy day here in the City by the Bay! One thing I’m not doing today is going downtown as the APEC conference is creating traffic nightmares! Staying home and waiting on Postie Mike to deliver my Black Plumb #47. Keeping me company the usual lamb and Lil Ike. Have a great day folks! 😀

I’m not keeping score, but it seems like every other day you’re waiting for a new knife in the mail. 🧐

Keep it up, Dan! 😃

The Missouri Department of Conservation said the same thing for many years. They finally acknowledged that mountain lions live here, but say they came from other states to the west, and there is no evidence of a "breeding population". Given the number of documented sightings listed on DOC's own website, I'm skeptical about that claim.

Unicorn's been gettin' a lot of carry lately!

We have bears too, Missouri's conservation department is pretty lackluster. 15ish years ago a small black bear got caught up in someones cattle fence and died, county said they thought Bears weren't procreating..... 🙄

Sitting on a five gallon bucket behind the shed with a good view of the part of our house where a woodpecker has been destroying the siding. Legal or not, if I get a shot, he’s dead.7903B01B-6173-4111-AD70-A97D974D9C8E.jpeg
If I thought there was a cougar around, I’d have a FAL.
Totin these today ~ Oregon Trapper cuz it be Trapper Tuesday, and a Cattaraugus.D752E995-48E7-4BA9-8E9F-A6909A6F6CA1.jpegYeah, I know it’s confining, but if you want to ride up front, you’ll have to wear the seatbelt, Manny.7DA75788-7BA8-447F-9EE5-F4BD16C8DBF6.jpeg

I get my internet through DSL and so still have a landline. Thursday the phone quit working. I still had the internet, but it was very slow. After wading through various automated systems yesterday, I finally got to chat with an actual human. The phone repair guy showed up this morning and fixed the open wire in the box across the street. I asked about still having the internet and he said if the "open" was close enough, the DSL would still work o_O

While I was out in the yard supervising 👷‍♂️ I had this Buck 319 in my pocket.

If I see one of those at the next Badger Blade Show, I’m digging out the wallet.

There was a bear that cruised through the Walmart parking lot in Jefferson City a few years ago. Made the local news and everything 🐻

Jeff, not even close! Unless there’s a GEC drop coming. 😀

At least DNR admits they are in the state.
I reported one in Stockton, MO, back in 1995.
DNR told me "You saw a wolf."
I told him "I hate to tell you this, but I know the difference between a dog and a cat. Also, if you care to come look at his tracks in the snow by the bassethound's pen, you will see more proof it is a cat. No claws in the foot print. Dog's foot prints always have claws.
OH!!! we also have some Armadillo on the property! We off'd a couple that were raiding the garden for you. I don't know what you're going to claim they were, and the ones still running around are, since the official position is they are not this far into MO.
There are also some black bear prints footprints in the wind-beak/woodlot, if you want to see them. There is at least three, since they are different sizes. Mother and two cubs, maybe?"
At the time MO denied Cougar, Armadilllo (despite the thousands of road killed Armadillos) and black bear were once again residing in the state.

I left later that year. I don't know if they admit to the cougar and bears yet.

I've seen armadillos north of Kansas City for years.
