Thanks sir! 😎😎😎
 Slow down, McD!!! I can't keep up!!!
I think you are keeping up like a champ!

Thank you very much. I've definitely been very fortunate & had some help from some great people.

These brass bolstered beauties complement the woods so well… superb!

No changes. Cattle all the way. It’s kinda nice to just avoid the morning indecision of ‘what to carry’.

Thanks man - that cattle knife has an old soul. Love it!

My friends, for the remainder of the day I’ll be carrying my A Wright Lambsfoot gifted to me by @sf fanatic! It’s my first lambsfoot and I’m loving it! Pinchable with a perfect pull and gorgeous, too!

Also pictured are two beautiful works by @Jiki. I traded two spoons and a spootanula for these bad boys! Jim is an amazing carver but he’s a terrible negotiator because he got ripped off big time in this trade!!!!

My son is taking the Santa for show and tell tomorrow!! Little turd hasn’t ever taken anything I carved so I may trade him to Jim for some more cool stuff!

But seriously, I can’t express how good it makes me feel to know that there are such kind and wonderful human beings in the world. Thank you so much, gentlemen. These will be treasured gifts that are passed on to my son someday. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Jiki can eat with his spoons, you can not do anything with the carvings except appreciate them.so maybe jiki is laughing all the way from the kitchen.

Hope everybody's having a fine morning ☕
I'm getting ready to go to Tennessee for a week or two, so I think I'll pull the batteries out of the bike and mower today. The bike's kind of done for the moment anyway. I rode Tuesday and did not like the look of the rear tire when I got back. I was planning on replacing it next spring anyway, but it caught me off guard how fast it's worn down in the last few rides. Its probably got a thousand miles of life left, but I'm very conservative when it comes to motorcycle tires, cause the ground hurts ;)
Anyway, enough prattling on 🤓
Cards this evening 💸
29 in the pocket 😊

Safe travels Mike
Always a pleasure to see one of Stan’s knives. Must’ve been a treat to watch him work and do things the old ways.

It happens to the best of us. 🙂

Thanks for sharing those old photos. I remember walking up Howard Street (which is pedestrian now, of course) from the train station to my hotel. Looks a lot different now, doesn’t it?

I imagine most of us would have a field day if we could go back and look through that old cutlery shop! 😁
Yeah, I miss him Barrett :( Be time to send his widow, Rosemary, a Christmas card soon. Thank you my friend, I sometimes think of you trudging up Howard Street! I preferred it how it was, but it looks better now than it did a couple of decades ago. Not a very welcoming station to arrive at, Sheffield, with the town up the hill, and some distance away, but, again, it looks better than in the past. Do you know, I never went in that cutlery shop! When I knew it, it was smaller than in the photo, with just an entrance door, and it specialised mainly in table cutlery (perhaps travellers wanting to take a last minute souvenir with them). At the time, there were plenty of better shops in Sheffield, to buy knives, and I was always racing to the fishing tackle shop (which also sold a good range of knives). Obviously, in retrospect, I regret never going in

My friend, I am battling some terrible tendinitis in my right arm that keeps acting up. Getting old sucks and I’ve only just begun!
Sorry to hear that :( I have been out of action for a year at a time with it, and it never really gets better :(
Thank you to @SoansoMcMasters for the spoons. They are awesome.

I tried that on cracked horn handle, but I think most of it just got on the outside. Couldn't really tell how much actually made it into the crack. Any tips?
Super Glue is used a lot in making instruments. If you were to go online to a luthier supplier, like Stewart MacDonald, you can get it in different grades of thickness. The thinnest will more readily seep into a tight crack, rather than sit on top.

Keep ‘er rubber side down, Mike! Enjoy your Tennessee Travels.
