Another beautiful day here in the City by the Bay! Just got back from from oral surgery and it went well. Guess it was five teeth rather than three. Along for the adventure my EO lamb and new Grohmann Mini Russell. Taking it easy today. Hope everyone has a wonderful week! 😀

Glad all went well Dan. What a beautiful day in S.F. Enjoy that ice cream.😃
I like the design of your Grohmann.

That’s a great memory Jack. 😎👍

Nice choice. 😎👍
Thanks buddy, I'm glad to have made it :) Obviously, the first lockdown here, as everywhere, was pretty crazy, but the weather was great, I got into making walking canes and staffs, did a heck of a lot of slingshot shooting, sat in the garden most days, discovered some new local walks, and drank a great deal of beer. The air tasted cleaner, there was more wildlife, you could walk for a mile, and not see a soul, and if you saw a stranger, you'd stop, and chat for 10 minutes, from across the street. I'd be happy to have a month of that every year ;) :thumbsu:
Cool pic
Nice pair for Monday Jack, hope your week goes well ! 👍
Thanks Steve, hopefully the weather will pick up a bit! :D ;)
Good knives for a rainy Monday! Hope you can stay dry and warm Jack!
Thanks David, had the big Barbour on, and my tweed cap ;)
“Burly” Lamb for a burly guy! 😎
Thanks, Jack!

Oh yeah ~ I need to add broccoli to my shopping list.

Superior Garden Gnome! 🤙

54 Jack, 175 Schrade ~ thanks, Paul!, and what used to be a file and some Hawthorn wood I cut years ago. When I was a kid, and my friends and I were canoe camping on the Fox River, we called this wood “Ironwood” because we could barely cut it with my Official Boy Scout Plumb hatchet.

Black and white because there’s very little color in this morning’s sunlight.View attachment 2404844View attachment 2404843Have a fine Monday!
LOL! :D Thanks buddy, I'm liking those black 'n' white pics you've been posting lately  Hope your week gets off to a good start :)
Good day to start Bill O'Reilly's..Killing the Witches.View attachment 2404963

Great-looking pair there David :)

Glad to hear it went well Dan :) I'm in the chair myself on Thursday, not so bothered about the dentist, but I'm not looking forward to Tool Man whining! :D The weather looks grand :)

That one sucks me in every time I get it out, and I often end up carrying it for several days in a row.
It has four blades, main clip, sheepsfoot, spey, and leather punch. Or earwax cleaner if you’re brave enough. View attachment 2398725View attachment 2398726
No broken tip that I know of, just steel lost to years of use and sharpening. That has the effect of shortening the clip point.
It has been well loved ~ by owner(s) past and present.
Thank you!

Thanks for the extra info and photos of that captivating cattle knife, Jeff!:thumbsup::cool:

Nice dark color on that acorn Gary. 😎👍
Thanks Bart. Several schools around us were out for the week also, but I remember when we used to have classes on Wednesday. 😳
Thanks, Todd. :) RR's smooth tobacco bone comes in a variety of colors, and I like the rich, dark brown variation best. The brighter, sort of golden color is my second favorite. Occasionally, it will come as a weak, washed-out yellow that I don't really care for.

My school had classes on the day before Thanksgiving for many years, and I often taught a 2:30pm class in which attendance was less than ideal that day. Eventually, we didn't hold classes on that Wednesday of Thanksgiving week so all students would have a travel day. But students would just cut their Tuesday classes - can't win!o_O

That's a beauty, GT!!👍🏻
Thanks, Chris. :)

For such a simple knife, the k55k really is nice. I happen to have its twin in my pocket right now.
I agree! I like the position of the lock release, the big sheepsfoot blade, the bail, and I think the handle is the most comfortable of all the knives I have with folded metal handles.:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Both cool cats in my book Gary

Thanks, Jack. :)
I admire your stag lambsfoot :cool::thumbsup:, but the dictionary on which it rests looks nothing like the Webster's New World Dictionary: College Edition I received from Uncle Jack and Aunt Marlene when I graduated from high school in 1969! ;)

Case, Case, and Wright. Thanks to Modoc ED Modoc ED for the Cases!

I stumbled onto a Case dealer while in SC with a large selection of new and older Case knives as well as a few other brands. After about 1-1/2 hours of browsing I selected a 6375 big stockman in antique smooth bone. I went in looking for a 47 stockman of which he had several but none had the covers that appealed to me except for the older stag ones he had, I was able to restrain myself from opening my wallet on those.:) I did return the next day and also picked up a mini trapped with nice jigged bone.
I was happy to find a place where I could handle the knives I wanted to purchase rather than taking a chance buying online. The 75 had been on my mind to get for a few months but until I walked into that shop I had never actually held one. Anyway, to make a short story long, I'm carrying this one the last few days.

Glad you had a safe enjoyable trip to visit family "out East", Greg; congrats on picking out a couple of new classic Case knives in SC!:cool::thumbsup:
It's great that you found a dealer where you could check out knives in person!

That jigged bone WCLF is absolutely intoxicating!:cool::thumbsup:

Same three as yesterday.

I feel like I should point out that my Landsknecht Emporium messer is not a sword - it's a messer (knife), and thus completely appropriate on The Porch (and not just as a prop). At many points in time in the Holy Roman Empire swords were prohibited to non-nobility, so the peasants resorted to carrying messers, which sometimes just happened to have two-and-a-half-foot long blades. "No sword here, sir, just a perfectly legal knife."

In Talhoffers treatise from 1467, after sections on longsword and dagger and wrestling and other bits, the messer section is started with (in Cory Winslow's translation): "Here begins the Messer. God please do not forget us."

Cool trio, Tyson!:cool::cool: Do you carry that new messer in a pocket slip?🤓

When I was in the East of Poland some years ago, friends told me that it was still legal to openly carry a three foot sword there, provided you were on you way to practice, or were a member of some historical society or fantasy group :D On the other hand, there are very strict controls on baseball bats

Wishing everyone a great Sunday :)
Interesting threesome, Jack! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
I've frequently walked around carrying baseball/softball bats most of my life, and never had any legal problems. Of course, I typically only carried them on my way to and from practices/games. ;)

Outstagging!! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
