Oh yeah ~ I need to add broccoli to my shopping list.
Superior Garden Gnome!
54 Jack, 175 Schrade ~ thanks, Paul!, and what used to be a file and some Hawthorn wood I cut years ago. When I was a kid, and my friends and I were canoe camping on the Fox River, we called this wood “Ironwood” because we could barely cut it with my Official Boy Scout Plumb hatchet.
Black and white because there’s very little color in this morning’s sunlight.View attachment 2404844View attachment 2404843Have a fine Monday!

Thanks for the extra info and photos of that captivating cattle knife, Jeff!...
That one sucks me in every time I get it out, and I often end up carrying it for several days in a row.
It has four blades, main clip, sheepsfoot, spey, and leather punch. Or earwax cleaner if you’re brave enough. View attachment 2398725View attachment 2398726
No broken tip that I know of, just steel lost to years of use and sharpening. That has the effect of shortening the clip point.
It has been well loved ~ by owner(s) past and present.
Thank you!

Thanks, Todd....
Nice dark color on that acorn Gary.
Thanks Bart. Several schools around us were out for the week also, but I remember when we used to have classes on Wednesday.![]()
Thanks, Chris.That's a beauty, GT!!![]()
I agree! I like the position of the lock release, the big sheepsfoot blade, the bail, and I think the handle is the most comfortable of all the knives I have with folded metal handles. For such a simple knife, the k55k really is nice. I happen to have its twin in my pocket right now.
Thanks, Jack....
Both cool cats in my book Gary![]()

Glad you had a safe enjoyable trip to visit family "out East", Greg; congrats on picking out a couple of new classic Case knives in SC!...
I stumbled onto a Case dealer while in SC with a large selection of new and older Case knives as well as a few other brands. After about 1-1/2 hours of browsing I selected a 6375 big stockman in antique smooth bone. I went in looking for a 47 stockman of which he had several but none had the covers that appealed to me except for the older stag ones he had, I was able to restrain myself from opening my wallet on those.I did return the next day and also picked up a mini trapped with nice jigged bone.
I was happy to find a place where I could handle the knives I wanted to purchase rather than taking a chance buying online. The 75 had been on my mind to get for a few months but until I walked into that shop I had never actually held one. Anyway, to make a short story long, I'm carrying this one the last few days.

That jigged bone WCLF is absolutely intoxicating!
Cool trio, Tyson!Same three as yesterday.
I feel like I should point out that my Landsknecht Emporium messer is not a sword - it's a messer (knife), and thus completely appropriate on The Porch (and not just as a prop). At many points in time in the Holy Roman Empire swords were prohibited to non-nobility, so the peasants resorted to carrying messers, which sometimes just happened to have two-and-a-half-foot long blades. "No sword here, sir, just a perfectly legal knife."
In Talhoffers treatise from 1467, after sections on longsword and dagger and wrestling and other bits, the messer section is started with (in Cory Winslow's translation): "Here begins the Messer. God please do not forget us."

Interesting threesome, Jack!...

When I was in the East of Poland some years ago, friends told me that it was still legal to openly carry a three foot sword there, provided you were on you way to practice, or were a member of some historical society or fantasy groupOn the other hand, there are very strict controls on baseball bats
Wishing everyone a great Sunday![]()
