What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I like the way your Fieldcraft fits the BPS sheath Jer  Good luck with the therapy buddy
Yes, that sheath was a stroke of luck. And under $15, as I recall. I bought an extra of the bushcraft field, which is in the hippie purse sheath. I should spring for another BPS sheath before they raise the price.

I'm sure it isn't neurotic at all to deliberately buy a knife I already have. I'll hide one in the garage.😁

I'm glad I stumbled on the Morta.

Thanks on the therapy. It always seems to involve strengthening muscles that are hard to find at first because I haven't used them in so long.

Incredible knife my friend :)

Nice to see your Klein again :) Fascinating piece of cutlery history  I think I have at least one of the Ibberson Action Knife range, and have put a couple into giveaways, including the Pruner model

It's interesting that the tang stamp that Ibberson's used for some of these knives bears a Patent Number which doesn't relate to this series of knives! :D

A poster on British Blades, many years ago, claimed to have had the idea for this range of knives, which were produced at a time when some of the remaining Sheffield cutlery firms were trying to produce more 'modern-looking', and more cost-effective knives. Eggington, who bought the Ibberson name, still produce these knives.

Congratulations! 😊 Busy? It'll be busy for the next 25 years mate - at least! 🤣;)

He's over here two Bob 🥶 You have two very stylish handwarmers there though buddy :)

Thanks to Bob Rufus1949 Rufus1949 :)

Thank you, as always Jack, for the wealth of information you share! I'm going to have to keep a lookout for one of the clip point variants too! The Action Knife! Makes it sound way more exciting than "ABS Pruner". Haha. I may actually keep this one clipped to my tool pouch it's just very nice to work with. They are still made for Klein it seems, although it is blue now instead of the awesome orange color.

Made In England Klein is a new revelation to me, too. That is a solid work knife. 🤙
Interesting company that has found a lasting niche serving tradesmen, mainly electricians.
Ya it was neat to see. I enjoy using their tools and knives quite a bit in my work. Very good company.

Today I have a large TEW lambsfoot and will be running it through the paces.

"cutting back" ...
Put the Mikov "Fish Knife" on the watch chain, "where it belongs".
The Case 3313 stockman remains in FRP.
Combined with the SAK Hercules, and Toferner Celtic/Viking/Norse (non-folding) pocket/neck knife on the belt, I am "thinking" (yeah ... yeah ... I no ... "dangerous when I do that" ...🙄) I don't really "need" a second knife in the pocket.
Will try just one in the pocket for a while.

View attachment 2407147how can anyone resist carrying a 31/2" equal end stag handled knife with a clip blade to boot. You can't.do I find myself avoiding people who don't have in their possession a stag handled knife, probably. I think if we are honest with ourselves we would all admit to that.
How exactly does that work? You’ll need to make that discernment early in a relationship before investing wasted time.

“Uh, before this goes any further, do you have at least one stag handled knife?”

Then, what about that crazy Uncle Jeff, who probably has Delrin in his pocket, showing up for Thanksgiving dinner?
Nice pairing Jeff, but don’t let Mitch’s wife see that Opinel! 🤣

That’s a good point Mitch…what was I thinking! 🤣
Why not? No one “needs” more than one knife.

Back from Tennessee. I took several knives, but these are the only three that I carried over the last ten days: Buck 301; Case 2318pu; Victorinox alox cadet. I did carry a couple of different Leathermans (Leathermen?), but never even pocketed a non-traditional. Good trip 🛣️ ⛰️🦃:)

I'm glad they still print paper maps 👍😀
It looks like we have the same little hobby of stopping in interstate rest areas to grab the latest official state map from the rack.

I have a big binder with pockets in which I keep them alphabetically. I have them from nearly every state I’ve driven through, but am still missing large chunks of the country.

Puma did some fantastic jigging on that one, Jose!
🤣

Off to the dentist today, to get a crown stuck back in. Hope they do a better job than last time

I need to do the same, Jack.
For a couple of years, we’d been using a particular tooth shop. The dentist who owned it was an older guy who did fine work. When he sold it to a kid fresh out of dentist college, we should have moved on, but stupidly stayed with that place. He replaced an old crown of mine, and it fell out after a couple of months. Now, a year later, I realize he butchered this one up, too.
It sticks out just enough to cause me to bite my cheek if I’m not paying attention, and lately it’s been hurting down inside.
We have a new tooth shop, and I need to make an appointment to have the butcher’s work re-done.
My new dentist is also younger than me (aren’t they all now?), and is a female who judging by her accent ~ slightly British ~ is a recent immigrant from Africa. And she is excellent.

Yesterday, you had me scratching my head over what you meant by “hippie purse sheath”, but now I get it.

Not long ago, I was scrounging the Salvation Army stores here looking for purses made of real leather to re-purpose.
Felt a bit weird carrying a purse through the store. Not that there’s anything wrong with that.😁
Sunlight, and the snow is melting!

Here too. Woo Hoo!
Nice photos.
The knife in frosty grass is a stunner.🤙

Not that I’m keeping track, but I could swear you say things like “I’ll carry this one for the rest of the month/year”, but everyday you swap them out!
I have the same problem. I could stick with the same one(s) day after day, and sometimes try, but always find myself opening my knife drawer.

The Stag on your knife does look pretty nice , but not every one has Stag to carry , so you must be avoiding a lot of people because how would you know who is carrying one . I do have some Stag to carry and it just makes me feel good to be able to carry it .

Just part of my cast iron stash.A0732FC3-AF37-4A6E-80A9-9D151F01964C.jpegI spent the day yesterday with my seeds. I brought them in from the greenhouse, laid them all out on the dining room table, and sorted them all out. Made a complete list for each category, and bagged them all up for storage. Some, like the beans and peas, go into the freezer, because they need that for germination (stratification).
Once I knew what I was short on, I placed my seed orders. Spread it out among five favorite suppliers.
These are some of the beans that I missed when picking, and dried on the vine. B128756B-8F1B-4677-99C8-462A95BE30A9.jpegWe’ll eat these.
I did segregate out one variety, “Noble”, which we really enjoyed this year for re-planting, but as you can see from the small packet I only used half of, I now have enough seed for eighty seven years. These were super productive, and were the vines that pulled down my wire on T post supports, and overgrew and broke the twelve foot sunflower stalks that were at the ends of the rows.
Quite beautiful beans…AD74C60E-4C42-45C8-B88F-B8CB635AC2EF.jpeg
