What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Wow. I have a soft spot for Trestle Pines…yours is a stunner!

Thanks a lot buddy :) Yes. giraffe bone

THank you David :)

I'd forgotten that forum knife was called the Yankee Jack James :) You got a very nice example

Looking good Bob :)

Thanks Steve :)

Some handsome bone there Gary

I think the best I've had were actually French Boudin Noir :D Pricey, but good :) Have you ever tried Black pudding fried (in bacon fat) with diced apple. Sounds weird, but it's really good. I think I got it off Keith Floyd! :D

LOL! :D Sounds like my mother's cooking! :D

Great pic Joe :)

Nice Pete :)

Cool combo Mitch :)

Have a great week everyone :) Starting mine with these two

Wow Jack! What a great shot of the Waboom!
You got the lightning perfect.

Carrying my new Albers lamb this week for Jon's awesome GAW thread. It's such a ham! 😁

You may not have solved the cube, but you have solved the jigged bone solution for today 👌🏼. Very easy on the eyes 👍🏼.

Although most of my rotation schedule categories have several weeks to go yet before I hit the end of the schedule (61 weeks from January 1, 2023), my canoe category that contains TWO entries each week has reached the end of the list. So I'll just go back to the start of the canoe list and start repeating that for the next 3 months or so.
That gives me these 2 canoes for this week: A Case red bone canoe from 1975, and a Fight'n Rooster green bone gunboat canoe.

Early walk in a restored tall grass prairie by the Kishwaukee River. Now, I need to finish drinking my pre-scope prep on the way home. Timing is everything😎53A6654E-EAF0-4FAC-8006-26055D790C94.jpegA6FFE346-00F5-428F-8CF9-39EEBBBFE4A2.jpeg
Wenger Handyman in case anything has to be MacGuyvered, and my favorite user out of my small group of Schrade Serpentine Jacks, my Schrade Walden 294. I’m happy with the delrin because I don’t worry about breaking it.

Well done delrin on your Schrade Jeff.
Hope you make it home.😀

To our poet laureate thank you.

I did the unthinkable and lacquered it Gary. My friend has special equipment to heat the lacquer for a piano like finish..so we tried it.
You're welcome, Bob. :)
Thanks for the info about the finish on your Opinel. I think it came out great!:thumbsup::cool: I significantly reshaped an Opinel handle once, including sanding it, and I gave it several coats of tung oil - doesn't look nearly as good as your lacquer finish.

Thanks buddy :) I did the same thing, then I did it again, third time I gave away the knife, went to buy another, and RR had stopped doing them! 😖🤔🤣
They still offer quite a selection of Half Hawks, including both 1 blade and 2 blade models and even at least one carbon steel model (and the vendor I looked at claimed both 3 7/8" and 4" models, but I find that hard to believe), but no smooth tobacco bone.

Have a good Friday everyone :) Hartshead Barlow today (with pens from @Johnnythefox ), and a Stag Jack forum knife :)

Stunning double stag day, Jack!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

I hope all is very Rosie with that trifecta Gary.👍🏻
All's well on the rosewood front, Bob. :)
I should hunt down all of the rosewood-hafted knives I have and take a group photo. I have quite a few, I think, and they all look quite different to me.

Thank you, sir! It was a lucky find for sure.👍🏻
How many miles are you up to?? You're going to need an oil change soon! 😆
I'm not meeting my mileage goals the last couple of weeks, Chris, and have no excuse other than laziness and/or refusing to walk if it's rainy.:( I'm using a miracle synthetic lubricant now, so I can go at least 10K miles between oil changes. I figure at 50 mi/week, I can probably make it until sometime in 2026 before my next oil change.😁

Splendid old stag lambsfoot, José!:cool::thumbsup:

Rainy day. Hope everyone has a great Saturday.

Gotta take note a the Ohta, Bob, but that coffin jack just slays me!:cool::cool:

Pair of vibrant vintage knockouts, Steve!:thumbsup::cool:

Pal Cutlery cattle punch that had the black plastic jigged scales originally. I sent it to Jason Ritchie a few years ago and he did a perfect job on recovering it in rosewood.
Also carrying a Northwoods Lincoln Jack, with giraffe bone covers, yesterday and today.

That Pal punch has plenty of panache, Greg!:thumbsup::cool:

Walking around the Soulard neighborhood and market early today, thought 5K Qs 5K Qs might enjoy this photo. 😎👍View attachment 2418243
Definitely enjoy the photo, Todd; it pegged my meter past the red line! 🤓:thumbsup:
Good to see that you're keeping your head down and watching where you're going in the big city! Do you have any idea what that plastic/rubber circular thing screwed to the face of the cast iron meter cover is? I see those occasionally on my walks and have no idea of their purpose. Your gold Cadet looks great on the cast iron patina.

Cool combination Gary :)
Thanks, as always, Jack. :)

Thanks. I don’t have any idea about the plastic thing Gary. I was thinking maybe you’d know! 🤣
