My first chicken of the woods find this year!
It has been a slow year for edibles, besides the meripilus sumstinei that reappears in my yard each summer and an odd wine-cap here and there.
Sodbuster Junior served me well. Just trimmed off the edges so I can return later and get some more.

I am pretty happy with this find. I wasn't in the wood for five minutes when this guy jumped out at me.
Found two more chickens on the way out of the woods, but they were old and far gone.

Just about to fry it up for lunch.

Relaxing today for once and about to eat a peach with my youngest, think this one will do just fine.
