A couple clad in micarta. The Oregon Trapper is muslin micarta, I don’t know what fabric the other is made of. I bought a small slab of it from a knifemaking supply place.Tree rats using my woodpile to plot and stage their next assault on my squirrel-proof sunflower seed feeders.Our Brittany Spaniel was pretty slick about defending against tree rats. Being mostly while, he would crouch motionless in the snow like a cat under where one was treed, then nab them when they thought the coast was clear and came down.
Manny just charges hell-bent out the door. They see him coming, and make it to the safety of the woods. Just barely. Then he barks at them, pees on the tree they escaped into, and looks proud of himself.

My slingshot has given the tree rats something to thing about when foraging!
