What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I got the same mini stove/fire pit. It was a gift from my sister last year. I've been impressed how well that little thing works.

This was over the Christmas weekend with some wild rice & sweet potato soup & some mini cheddar biscuits.

Split up an old oak shovel handle that wasn't much good for anything else to fuel the fire 🔥.....I didn't use the Buck to split it in case y'all were wondering lol

Another easy and convenient fuel is oak pellets for pellet stoves. That was the first fire in our Christmas Solo and worked perfect.

I am going to need to see some of those fountain pens with knives photos....just for science of course. Those are some good looking Cases.
PenisMightier PenisMightier - Here you go. A bad picture as my man cave is pretty dimly lit (like me!). That’s a small LT Wright sitting on top of this old Eversharp display case with a cool curved glass top. This case is loaded with Parker, Shaeffer, Wahl-Eversharp, and Conklin pens. All the Fountain Pens have been restored by me. At one point, the collection numbered close to 1,000 pens!!! It’s been thinned considerably. Before *Bay, I used to pick up pens at flea markets for next to nothing. Now everyone who has a pen thinks it’s rare and minty! My kids have no interest in the pens, so it’s time to find them a home. I will, of course, keep the ones that came from my father and grandfather!!

Haven't posted much since the holidays, been pretty busy lately, need to fix that lol

Got called to fill in for one of the other guys at work this week, putting in some of those fun 12hr night shifts, aka late night wrenching! 🔧 .... Be careful what you get good at I guess! .... "Hey we need a favor & someone we can count on"... "Ok, I'm on it!" 🤣

Wooden Wednesday with modern friends 👍

Peckerwood gets a workout, and I get lunch. Tube steak, grilled over hot appplewood coals. Thanks little buddy.

I didn’t realize Peckerwood was a fancy chef. Thems good eats!

Hope everyone is having a good day. Totin the giraffe lamb and a new to me 77 that I received in a trade. Thanks again @sbh06 . I now see why everyone is after this pattern.

Great pair brother! Gotta love a 77 👍🏼.

My wife would buy at least one chickadee calendar!🤓

This is my wife’s current calendar. Reminds me of CelloDan CelloDan and his creative creations. This artist makes the most fun forest people out of found nature materials and then captures animals interacting with them.

Those do work well 👍 I bought a big bag of those wood smoker pellets last year to try it out (Got them on a huge discount since the BBQ sales are so slow in Dec). Just now running out of them lol
You can also toss a charcoal briquette or two in there to keep a healthy ember going. Sometimes they burn through those wood pellets before you can notice it, they're very efficient burners with little smoke. I've been impressed with how well that little thing burns.

Score! Nice one sir! Is that a new addition? I didn't see that one! Haven't been paying attention or it may have gotten exported! 😂🤣🤪. Haha I'm j/k

How do you like it???
It's an older 1 Rick, about 3 years ago. It was his Neddy model after Ned Kelly.
Do they make a “ah well, I suppose it has come to this” knife too 😉
Sure can he could etch what ever you want. It's 1 of Paul Emmanuel Arestan's smoko range.

Noteworthy trio of "you don't see that every day" knives, and interesting catalog info!:thumbsup::cool:

What's the wood on the Case gunstock, Mike?
Those sowbelly lambsfoot 88s seem like a superb pattern!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

Couple of cool carries, Jack, especially the melon tester!:cool::thumbsup:
Your turtle reminds me of a question I wanted to ask: did you find any knife shops in Lanzarote?

I like that regal canoe!:cool::thumbsup:

Another striking Moki, and a "family heirloom" besides!:cool::cool:

Cool synthetic handle on your lambsfoot!:thumbsup::cool:

Good to see your entire fleet on maneuvers!:thumbsup:🤓

Thanks for sharing some of your thoughts on your Moki examples!:thumbsup::thumbsup:

My wife would buy at least one chickadee calendar!🤓

Thanks, Bob. :) I didn't do the modification on the No.8 I posted, but I like it a lot. If I ever made time to get back to frequent whittling, I think the "snub-nosed sheepsfoot" might be a useful tool.

Another pair of grand and quite rare knives, Steve!:cool::thumbsup:

You don't know how true that is in my life, Chris!😁
I always try to remember to empty my pockets when I go in for my annual Medicare "wellness visit" so that the weight my primary care doctor has on file for me is somewhere close to what I see when I'm knifeless at the gym.

Glad you were able to get that taken care of.:cool::thumbsup:
Is that sometimes called a ganglion cyst? My wife had a ganglion on her wrist for several years, and heard many "folk remedies" such as slamming it with a dictionary or Bible.

Congrats on your new Christmas knives; that's an impressive trio of equal-enders!:cool::cool:
(I guess that GEC 78 isn't really an equal-end pattern, is it?)

I have several daily exercises I do for my shoulders to try to keep them from getting chronically painful, but I never considered "humiliation" as a possible palliative! 😲o_O

Be careful what you wish for, Chris! 🤓😁
You didn't even have to double-dog dare him!

That's an appealing knife, whatever its surroundings!:thumbsup::cool:

Very handsome saddle horn! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
That's a pattern I haven't tried yet, but I'm definitely interested in giving one a try.

Congrats on your new Rough Ryder!:thumbsup::thumbsup:
I like the half-hawk pattern, and I like their cinnamon stag bone, so your knife is win-win IMHO.

Wow, that's an elegant knife!:cool::thumbsup:

Thank you sir. I only have one saddle horn and it's fun to carry and use. The secondary blade shape is my preferred blade on this one.

Used this little Buck to cut out some sorghum I'm growing to give to a friend. If his cattle like it I may give him some seed to grow his own.

My goodness that is a beautiful collection! Thank you for showing it to us. Those Sheaffer balances are a real beaut, and is that a Doric up top?

I will have to break out some of my own collection once it is unpacked to show with my knives. Although I doubt it will measure up to your collection. I wish I had been able to get get my Grandfather's pens, but I think they were long gone and replaced by ballpoints by the time I came around.

Kudos on doing the restores yourself. I have done a Sheaffer Touchdown restore, but nothing dealing with celluloid, so bravo on that. I agree on everyone asking an arm and a leg for real beaters. I feel like that same issue creeps up in the knife world too.
