I’ve been collecting pens and knives since I was in middle school!! I taught myself how to restore fountain pens 25+ years ago, but I don’t do much anymore. I’ve repaired just about every make and model. And yes, there are several Dorics in that case. Some of the best writers I have. I have some pretty high end modern pens, but since I’m semi-retired, they don’t get used.My goodness that is a beautiful collection! Thank you for showing it to us. Those Sheaffer balances are a real beaut, and is that a Doric up top?
I will have to break out some of my own collection once it is unpacked to show with my knives. Although I doubt it will measure up to your collection. I wish I had been able to get get my Grandfather's pens, but I think they were long gone and replaced by ballpoints by the time I came around.
Kudos on doing the restores yourself. I have done a Sheaffer Touchdown restore, but nothing dealing with celluloid, so bravo on that. I agree on everyone asking an arm and a leg for real beaters. I feel like that same issue creeps up in the knife world too.
