Two in my pocket, one on my belt.
A three bladed Klein Electrician, and for Woodnesday, my Loewenmesser and Green River.
View attachment 2443620View attachment 2443621View attachment 2443622The latter two were given to me by
@Old Engineer and
@sunknife last year.
A bit of lore I learned while looking at old knife catalogs online last night ~ The knife companies, Schrade in this case, showed their curved blade knives in the Electrician Knives section. As a gardener, I always called that a Hawkbill or Pruner, but Schrade called it a Skinner, intended for skinning cables. And I used to roll my eyes at ebay sellers who called a Hawkbill a Skinner
Noteworthy trio of "you don't see that every day" knives, and interesting catalog info!

Jeff, I believe the time stamps reflect the time you have selected in your account preferences.
Messing around with these for Wooden Wednesday so far...

What's the wood on the Case gunstock, Mike?
Those sowbelly lambsfoot 88s seem like a superb pattern!

Yeah, I might need another vacation Bob!

THanks buddy
Thank you Steve
Still struggling to get caught up here, and tomorrow I'm off to the market first thing. Going to be carrying this Albert Oates Sheldon Lambsfoot, gifted to me by
@seas165 , and a very cool Colonial Melon Tester
Tyson A Wright
included in a a generous California Care Package

Have a good day everyone
Couple of cool carries, Jack, especially the melon tester!

Your turtle reminds me of a question I wanted to ask: did you find any knife shops in Lanzarote?
Excuse me while I enable you.

I like that regal canoe!

Day four of the Moki binge. I inherited this from my father when he passed. He must have purchased it when he was living in Germany in the 90s. At that time he introduced me to Moki when he gave me a cocobolo handled Glory, which has seen a lot of carry time. It even went with me the first time I went up Mt Whitney (14,508’).
Another striking Moki, and a "family heirloom" besides!

New to me TEW lamb and the Spring Street Barlow.

Cool synthetic handle on your lambsfoot!

Canoe is a wonderful pattern and exceptionally comfy in hand.
WHEN you get o ... some ... you'll ask:
"
SELF!!!!! Wide you not get these sooner?!?
I'de suggest the Rough Rider/Ryder and Marbles, for the best
BOOM for the $$.

If you want carbon steel, the RR (yellow) Classic Carbon/(black) Classic Carbon 2 series with diamod shield are difficult to better.

Good to see your entire fleet on maneuvers!

That's a tough choice. The one I carry most is the Fish Owl - It is so light that it disappears in your pocket. The Pearl/Abalone Glory has my favorite handle, pictures don't do justice to the pearl, with its green and pink highlights. The large Kronos feels really solid.
For sentimental value, I start with the cocobolo Glory (which I haven't posted recently), which was my first Moki. My father gave that to me around 1997 or so. I also have two of my father's that I inherited when he passed - the cocobolo Pliant that I posted today, and a black lip pearl Glory, which is frequently found in my suit pocket on Sundays.
All of them have fantastic action and are a step above most brands in fit and finish. Moki does not get enough attention here.
Thanks for sharing some of your thoughts on your Moki examples!

I see a knife calendar in your future

. Chickadee Cutlery! That has a nice ring to it

.
My wife would buy at least one chickadee calendar!

Gary, I find that your Opinel mods take it to a new level.
Thanks, Bob.

I didn't do the modification on the No.8 I posted, but I like it a lot. If I ever made time to get back to frequent whittling, I think the "snub-nosed sheepsfoot" might be a useful tool.

Another pair of grand and quite rare knives, Steve!

Lose some weight? Pfft!! Just empty all the knives from your pockets. Ta-da!!
You don't know how true that is in my life, Chris!

I always try to remember to empty my pockets when I go in for my annual Medicare "wellness visit" so that the weight my primary care doctor has on file for me is somewhere close to what I see when I'm knifeless at the gym.
...
I had a benign tumour removed that was growing out of the nerve sheath in my wrist last year. Because it was pushing on my nerves I was having intense hand pain, thankful to not have a ping pong ball in my wrist now!

Glad you were able to get that taken care of.

Is that sometimes called a ganglion cyst? My wife had a ganglion on her wrist for several years, and heard many "folk remedies" such as slamming it with a dictionary or Bible.
View attachment 2445290just received the boker for Christmas, was asked my favorite knife awhile back and showed the wife my camillus, I explained that I was trying to get the gec 78,she inquired how to get one,I said you don't.so it turns out unbeknownst to me she found what was close in style and attainable, the boker club. but in that time unbeknownst to her I snagged a 78.so I have been fortunate.
Congrats on your new Christmas knives; that's an impressive trio of equal-enders!

(I guess that GEC 78 isn't really an equal-end pattern, is it?)
Smart.
I have a quite compact garden kneeler I could secret in my bosom.
I took it to shoulder therapy a couple of times after they started making me crawl.
I have several daily exercises I do for my shoulders to try to keep them from getting chronically painful, but I never considered "humiliation" as a possible palliative!

I dare you to toss it in a mud puddle.
Be careful what you wish for, Chris!

You didn't even have to double-dog dare him!
That's an appealing knife, whatever its surroundings!

Very handsome saddle horn!

That's a pattern I haven't tried yet, but I'm definitely interested in giving one a try.
Gonna be the carry choice for a couple days. Mail call brought it today, along with a couple other “thrifty” purchases.

Congrats on your new Rough Ryder!

I like the half-hawk pattern, and I like their cinnamon stag bone, so your knife is win-win IMHO.
It's 0200 local, can't sleep, so...
Didn't take too many hours this evening to realize the 532 is going displace the 112. This is going in my pocket/ on my belt today, and will likely occupy that spot for a while.
Wow, that's an elegant knife!
