What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Ew, what are you doing to that knife, Coleman?

Just kidding, it looks great being used.

Thanks Todd. My calendar for this year is dad jokes.
One of my daughter’s friends in her adult day program is a wonderful young man with massive handicaps. One of his pleasures is trying to get me with a corny dad joke, so I am always on the hunt for good ones to get him back. Keep ‘em coming!
I carried the Case big stockman and Boker whittler for a few days this week. 2 knives with a total of 6 blades might seem extreme to folks who aren't knife nuts.
Today I paired it down to 2 knives and 3 blades, both Schatt & Morgan made.
The big spear blade Schatt was one of the first knives I acquired when I started on this knife collecting trek about 7-8 years ago. I don't recall what steel the blade is made from but it takes and hold a keen edge extremely well.

I’ve always thought the large Case Stockman is a very handsome knife, Greg.
Gorgeous Pal Jeff.👌
Thank you much, Bob!
My daughter and her fiancé from St. Paul MN think that Popeye's is without question the best fast food chicken chain.

“Best fast food chicken chain”?

I’ve never seen those words combined in one sentence before.

Anyway, whoever first thought of sticking the “s” in fastfood was a marketing genius.

Love it now, but what covers were on it originally?
Sweet Remi Jack!
Back to these 2 today, and probably for the entire weekend. It’s cold and windy in The Bluegrass State. Rain is moving in for the day. Stay sharp, Porchers!!View attachment 2454309
Nice SW!🤙
It is a White and Grey World out today .

Sure is purty, ain’t it?
I had to shoot my knife photos indoors, being afraid of setting them down and losing them in the snow.
I’m one of those nuts who enjoys going out and clearing the driveway, so I’ll have that to look forward to after it eases up. The other day my faithful Ariens snowblower with the Sno Commander®️ engine started on the first pull. I’ve never had to resort to the plug in electric starter.

I see that today’s typically routine January weather has been christened Winter Storm Gerri. Such drama.

Oh well, lots of stuff cancelled today, including our turn at delivering Meals On Wheels.

On the exciting side of things, thanks to the snow the orher day, Manny nabbed his first tree rat without the help of my 5mm Sheridan. Manny’s Big Day.

Today, I will be carrying these in my pocket looking for an excuse to use them…BEAAE2FD-F3A3-4B7D-A377-252005B2EC99.jpeg7C5DCC65-9637-4EEE-9CCC-DB408AF827E6.jpeg
I am not actively knife shopping. I don’t really want or need more, but will bend on that if I come across a nice TL-29. I bought another one the other day.
Today, I’m totin the Camillus on the left.6A30B1AD-A3C4-42F6-A219-5D15BDDA61B2.jpegThe shackle placement is one clue that it’s older. The new one is on the right, with it’s last version placement of the shackle. Despite a little rust on the shackle, and a bit of wear on the scales and bolsters, the blades are dead mint. 25364AB6-C06F-4EFD-BDE8-48CE10239E4A.jpegNever sharpened/never used. Kind of cool. I don’t need it, so might just leave the factory edge alone. Never done that before.

A cloudy day here in the City by the Bay! Looks like the first major winter storm will roll in tomorrow. Lots of snowfall in the mountains predicted. Get your shovel ready Ed! Nothing major on the agenda today. Keeping me company with a nod to Black Friday a Bog Oak lamb and one from the vault. Have a great weekend folks! 😀View attachment 2454586View attachment 2454587

LOL! :D Looks like an interesting pub John, nice to hear you're still getting chatted up! :D There was a private estate, with a big park like that, where I grew up in Sheffield, and we'd get chased off for taking a short cut. I have an author friend, who grew up there, and tells me it wasn't that posh, but her dad owned a Roller! :D At the bottom of my garden, here in Leeds, there's a small access road, (for the servants and deliveries), and then a wall. On the other side of the wall, the half dozen streets make up what was formerly a private estate, some huge mansions there, but Leeds City Council took it back, in the early 1980's, because the roads weren't being maintained.

Thanks Steve :)

Nicely paired

Albers Lamb, and an Old Friend today

Good looking breakfast and Barlow!
Awesome stag!

Lots of wind out there. The trees and bushes are all waving around. Makes me glad I had the maple lead that was overhanging my house removed a month ago. Our temp is headed down continuously until at least Sunday. It was 37F and lightly raining when I got up, and now its 26F and thinking about snowing although I think most of the snow is going to be north of me. Us old folks cancelled Friday pool because we just didn't want to be out in it. I'm toasty here playing on the computer and watching a Stargate SG-1 episode I've seen so many times I know it by heart 😜

Fedex delivered a package today. I used the Pioneer to open it. Not surprising, it contained a cutting board and a knife 😃
Have a good day and stay warm if its cold where you're at 🥶
