-4 degrees this morning ...... not often do we get below zero in my area, but, this is the third time in a week ....... and the coldest night is supposed to be tonight.

Your question points out how ambiguous and subjective words like "large" and "small" are; just use the actual measurements, and the readers can supply their own "size words" if they insist on such ambiguity.Question:
Since stockmans are currently available up to 4.825 inches closed (the Old Timer 858's are only 4.625 inch closed), is a 4.25 inch closed properly a "large" or a "medium" since there are two production Stockmans that are larger, with the 3.825 ~4.0 inch closed a "small"?![]()
Cold temperature outside, but your matching knives certainly bring the heat, Steve!
Great to see that shadow stag Lloyd, Gary!Going with my stag Lloyd today. It's 13 degrees F out there, and we're getting some snow. It's a good day to stay indoors. I have already fed the birds, so I think that will be my only trip outside, except to check the mailbox.

I always have to check online for Case date stamps. No problem! & Yes I believe so, I bought it new when it came out that same year. I'm still working on my Case tang stamps though![]()
Cherry² ?....![]()

So there seem to be (at least) 2 kinds of cherry involved. Let's make it multiple choice. Which of the following best represents the situation mathematically?Squared, Cubed, IDK...I could be wrong... I'm no math-magician!![]()
Thanks for the info. It’s my new favorite rock, and I just noticed it sticking out of the glacier in my yard.![]()
Nice collection of Motown Metal, Rob!...
I mentioned the bases being covered, but, it ain't about bases around here today. It's about touchdowns. I won't be telling who I'm rooting for ........ well .... not exactly.

Looks like you're TWICE the gentleman I am, Jeff! The Buck Forum Knife, and one of the two Camillus 41s that I won in the first BF giveaway I entered years ago. I feel bad that I’m unable to remember the member’s name
I always think of a penknife as a gentleman’s knife. I need all the help I can get.View attachment 2465203View attachment 2465204I think the snow on my spruce trees is beautiful.
Stay warm!

Congrats, Mike; good NFL Sunday for you!22 degrees F with a predicted high of 32 which is goodFreezing rain tonight and tomorrow morning which is bad
I'd take a little more cold weather and snow over freezing rain any day.

Cool (and very old, I'll bet) John Prine video. Especially appropriate for The Porch since in the video, they were sitting out by the front (back?) steps of his old house....
Hey ~ Case’s salesman must have had a connection with Peabody Coal Co. i have a large Case Trapper with the Peabody blade etch. I had to buy it because of that ~ it reminded me of the John Prine song, Paradise.
Thanks, Gary. I guess you’re right. Off the top of my head, I think i only have nine Cases, and don’t usually make a point of pairing them up.
Aside from sometimes pairing a TL-29 with another from thw same brand, or choosing a knife based on need (garden), I lean toward a more random, whatever carches my eye style of rotation. Unlike someone I know…
Nicely done, Steve! That old Camillus is very nice! Of course the Lamb is too...

So there seem to be (at least) 2 kinds of cherry involved. Let's make it multiple choice. Which of the following best represents the situation mathematically?
A) Addition: cherry + 2
B) Subtraction: cherry – 2
C) Multiplication: cherry x 2 (or, since x can be interpreted as repeated +, cherry + cherry)
D) Division: cherry ÷ 2 (or, since ÷ can be seen as x reciprocal, cherry x (1/2))
E) Exponentiation: cherry^2 (or since ^ can be interpreted as repeated x, cherry x cherry)
