LOL!A nice little gift arrived from
today.
Jack Black
I call this sort of Knife with a,stainless blade, big grippy orange handle and lanyard loop a "boat knife"
In the old days I used to drill my knives and put a lanyard loop on them in case I was working over water.
As I get sea sick and so rarely went on boats/ships except ferries, after 30 years I stopped doing it.
It arrived just at the right time though as I was going to the "Riverside cafe" which strangeley enough is by the riverside.
He also sent me this excellent Dunlop tryre lever, which is heavy duty (and though made in England) it may well be made using steel from the girders of the Forth bridge.
(I once went out with 4 Scottish lasses in Glasgow, they where drinking Irn bru and Vodka so did I to be social.
As I was the only Englishman in the pub and all the Scotsmen where drinking pints of heavy I got some daggers/looks (it was one of the less trendy parts of town).
But I was the one with lasses so I didnt care.)
It will make an excellent pry bar I can see a lot of uses for it.
While mucking around near the water I noticed it said the life buoys should be checked often.
Well I had a look and the rope was sun damaged and badly frayed so I called the number under the sign and reported the 2 of them.
Busy body or good citizen you decide....
Thanks again to Jack.

If at all possible, I usually try for an outside photo. That’s a nice shot, Ken. Nature making new soil out of fallen wood.I posted these same 2 yesterday, but today they got to pose outside in a nice little piece of woodland close-by

Thanks Paul! Yes, it's amazing how fast fallen wood turns to soil over here!If at all possible, I usually try for an outside photo. That’s a nice shot, Ken. Nature making new soil out of fallen wood.![]()

Thanks for another trek John.I carried on had a coffee at the Riverside cafe in a nice patch of sunI found.
Then I travelled further on "Down to the "waterline" which had receded so I could see the Thames path for the first time..
It was a quite a surprise to see "Bon Jovi" falling over on the jetty.
This song came to mind with some great finger picking licks.
Why do I like my Viper so much?
