Congrats on your first Grandaddy Barlow, Rob!Case XX 6143 (1940-64) Grandaddy Barlow for Friday. I snatched this off our Exchange the other day ....... my first ever Grandaddy Barlow.
It's a pocket full ...... very stout and snappy. I'm going to leave it looking like a grandpa ought to look.I'm going to be leaning, so no other knife today.

My wife's birthday is Groundhog Day, but she claims to have no insights into how much winter remains.About 7 or 8 miles to the east, is the historic old square of Woodstock, the movie location where Bill Murray experienced recurring Deja Vu while hoping to see if a fat rodent would awaken from hibernation and see his shadow.
At my place, we trust in the wisdom of Rubber Ducky emerging from under his stump. No shadow!View attachment 2480373View attachment 2480372
Nice Carhartt sowbelly, ED!We've got some banking to do in town today and then it'll be clam chowder at the Wagon Wheel Cafe followed by grocery shopping at the Holiday Market. Still no rain so I guess you could call it a dry run. I'll be totin my new Case single-blade Sowbelly dressed in it's G-10 Carhartt Jacket.

Couple of showstoppers, Steve!
I had that sort of experience with the first sowbelly I ever bought, a Rough Rider. I got a set of RRs in 12 different patterns and planned to carry each one for a week to see what it could do, but when I got around to the sowbelly's turn, I carried it for a MONTH before I could move on to the next pattern! This sowbelly still hasn't left my pocket. Been a couple weeks now. Love it.

I like the stainless and micarta. No worries.
Sweet old Case, and moving story about the Canadian aviators!CANADA WW2
This is an extra post for Canadians.
I got lost on the way home tonight looking for a short cut and came across this memorial in the middle of a housing estate.
The inscription stands to the bravery of the 2 Airmen and the naming of the roads shows the gratitude and respect shown them by the local towns people.
RIP lads.
...
The knife is what I call my Canadian Case genrously given to me by Dan.

Just wanted to say how important being in this community has become to me. You all are a top notch bunch of folks to converse with and share interests. Thanks again for having me!
Congrats on that classic 78; that's a pocket knife!View attachment 2480684just got this 78 from the traders den.
That moose is very cool!
That's a handsome knife!
Nice knives, Bob, and congrats on the lovely leather! Accolades to Jeremy and Paul, a couple of generous gents cut from the same cloth as you!A leather collaborative between Jeremy@sbh06 and Paul@Jakeywax31. Thank you both for your thoughtful generosity.

That's so mysterious, Todd; they should know better! Thanks guys! Boker makes a nice Barlow…maybe that’s why they call almost all of their knives “Barlows.”![]()
I felt like that, too, Rob, but found that I was plumb out of Northfield stag!Felt like totin' stag for Northfield stag Saturday.![]()

I personally think you have impeccable taste, Chris!

Another tremendous trio, Jeff!Gifted 77 Improved Muskrat, and 766, which according to a post I dug up, Schrade called a Wharncliffe Pattern ~ even though it has no Wharncliffe blade.
It’s been re-hafted in stag by Glenbad, so not only can I celebrate Schradurday, but I can join the cool kids in Stagurday.
Thanks, Bruce and Bob!
And my Handyman.View attachment 2481527
Someday soon you're gonna convince me to buy one of those scouts on steroids!"best" of all realms?
Only 4.125 inch closed, excluding the bail.
Reasonable and smooth "5" pull on all blades, there is a half stop on all 4 blades, as well.
Weight is less than a 3 5/8 inch Scout/Camp.
I'll guess the G10 covers liners, and bolsters are much lighter than Delrin/bone and German Silver bolsters and brass liners.
New AND old black. to make it "easy" to spot if set down or dropped. (excluding in an Oak and/or Elm forest in the fall)
Can opener works quite well. (I've not had any opportunity to test the caplifter.)

Highly recommend if you need a user 4 blade Scout/Camp knife, that won't damage the back account ... or upset the better 99.9%.![]()
Congrats on your new stellar stag, Jeremy! This one came in the mail today, just in time for stag Saturday.

Thank you. The sample size is small for me but this is some of the best I’ve seen.Congrats on your first Grandaddy Barlow, Rob!
I've had one for quite awhile, but it's got a paint-stained handle, a rusty and wobbly blade, was made in Japan, and a colleague got it for me out of a dead guy's garage, so you probably wouldn't have been very interested even if I offered it to you!
My wife's birthday is Groundhog Day, but she claims to have no insights into how much winter remains.
Jeff, it's always good to see Rubber Ducky, but it looks like he has a splitting headache!
Nice Carhartt sowbelly, ED!
I sure hope you remembered to do an appropriate heat check on the clam chowder!

Sorry for the slow reply, my friend. No model number stamped on the knife so I went on a search through my bin of knife boxes for clues. Didn't realize I had so many Schatt & Morgan knives until I started sorting the boxes. Anyway this is what I found #1215 Tear Drop, white bone, File & Wire Series. I dyed the bone to the color it is now but included a pic View attachment 2485952below of what it originally looked like when I got it around 2015-16. Thanks for you're interest.Wonderfull carry there Greg! What is the S&M pattern called? Love that fat spear.
That’s what I like to see.
Thanks Gary, I will.... Cherish the Churchill, James!

Thank you, sir! If you recall, it was one of your sub-sets that initially sparked my interest in Case knives.
Great pic! Have you ever tried sprinkling some dry seasoning over your popcorn? Some good BBQ or Cajun seasoning can work some wonders![]()
Thanks Gary!Cool knives and rainbow shots, Bart!
