No lie. It’s a feather.
Might have to hide a few saltwater fishing weights in it to prevent neck dive.

This wood is pretty darned soft. It dents if I look at it crossways. Sure is easy on the tools, though.
Well, the end grain was kinda rough on my forstner bit cutting the 7/8” jack hole. I read that it has a high silicon content.

I still have the sowbelly. This might be the longest I've had one knife in my pocket since finding this forum. It's just an awesome knife. It was completely covered in funky old grease and sticky stuff last week and I tossed it in hot water with dish soap and scrubbed with a toothbrush and it came out brand new. Love the stainless and micarta.

The big ol' Queen lock back in the side pocket today. It needs to be broken in. Poor thing has never cut anything before. Turned a walnut bead for it and made a leather fob. Ready to roll.

I’ll thinking about doing something like that in all of the screw holes to strengthen them, but the end/edge grain is pretty tough.
I haven’t decided on the finish yet. But I’ll for sure be using sanding sealer/grain filler on it.
