What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My dad passed away in December and I'm slowly going through his tools. It's not easy because his garage was his haven and although I was allowed to use it, I was never really welcome to. His garage and his tools were his. If we were working on cars, trucks, motorhomes, motorcycles and boats we worked on them together. Him doing the work and me fetching tools and trying to learn.
Now suddenly it's mine. I'm starting to feel that he wants me there and has given his permission although it is still tough.
Long story short, I'm finding some interesting things.
It's far from pristine but this little congress of his is going to get a ton of pocket time.View attachment 2511753View attachment 2511754View attachment 2511755View attachment 2511756View attachment 2511759

Sorry to hear about your dad. I’ve been there, it’s a tough loss. 🙁 Strange feeling going through their things without permission, isn’t it?

I usually carry these 2 together

Beautiful old Barlows you’ve got there, and well-photographed as always.

Three knife Thursday for me today. I’m hoping the #48 and #62 — great knives, but neither of them see much pocket time — will convince me that I don’t need more of either pattern, but I’m afraid the opposite might happen. 😁

Works of art Will. What a sweet forum knife.👌

Bob
Appreciate that Bob, it does have some nice grain-less so now as when new - as Bocote kind of takes on a turd-hue in time ... Super Shadow you've just taken delivery of, very striking piece.😍

Thanks too to Jeff black mamba black mamba the Wasboard Bone is really worth getting if you get the chance, I gave two away..frankly regretting it :D They did some paterns in Green bone too.

Thanks, Will

Realized it is my 11 year anniversary here on the forums, so decided to carry two knives that were in my collection at that time. This proved to be oddly challenging. I typically like to carry a camp knife with another folder or small fixed blade, but I can’t seem to remember exactly when I acquired many of the camp knives . Strange and weirdly specific amnesia. But these two from AG Russel were definitely in my collection in 2013 :)

Gonna make a quick trip to the bank to pick up new ATM withdrawal cards and then lunch at the Wagon Wheel Cafe. They're predicting up to a foot of snow starting around noon so it's gonna be a quick trip. I'll be totin this Capped Jack.

What altitude is your home at? I ask as it seems you are getting more than your fair share of snow. I live North of you, not far from Tacoma, WA, and we have not had 1/2 inch of snow all this Winter. Stay warm and safe. John

"The weather has been unpredictable lately! On Tuesday, the temperature was 70°F, in the 60s yesterday, and today it's snowing with a temperature of 20°F. We are experiencing lake effect snow from Lake Ontario, which has caused a band of snow to form earlier."

Went out to feed the 🐦. It felt pretty cold after our 2-day heat wave! Had my new lock back in my pocket.
