What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

The National Churchill Museum is in Fulton, Missouri. Its in the Church of St. Mary, Aldermanbury which was originally built in the 12th century. It was bombed in WWII and left in ruins until it was moved stone by stone from London to Fulton Missouri. I've spent several hours in the museum and its quite excellent. Why is it located on the Westminster College campus in Fulton, Missouri you may ask? That's where Churchill gave the famous "Iron Curtain" speech in 1946.

Back on topic
We couldn't get a game together last Friday, and this Friday wasn't going to work either, so we're playing poker this afternoon. I will be totin' the 29 in case something needs poking :D

So many Churchill posts lately, and I for one am glad of it!

Fantastic piece of info thanks for that.

I had no idea about this, what a beautiful building.

I have Visited his grave and walked around Blenheim Palace its very near where I live.

He did more in any one year of his life than most people do in a lifetime.
If you are ever in the states, Kansas in particular, you might be able to see a good deal of John Churchill the first Duke of Marlborough's correspondence. The University of Kansas special collections library has them from some generous donor. When I was in undergrad there I got to handle a few pieces of that correspondence for a history paper. It was quite the treat!

To go and see Blenheim palace is one of my bucket list items, you are a lucky man indeed!

Also if you are a John Churchill and Winston Churchill fan, you should read (or listen on audiobook) to Winston Churchill's history on John Churchill.

Ok I swear that is the last time I write Churchill for awhile.

Here is my midday carry from doing chores, to keep things knife related that is.

Nice jack🤙
Thanks, my friend. I noticed you had that black wood handled HSB out for use. I realized after seeing your pic that I had picked up a HSB sleeveboard whittler from that same vendor last year at the knife show. I hadn't thought about that at the time the two of us were at his table while you were pondering your purchase. If he still has that red Ariel equal end jack that I picked up about four times and never purchased I'll be getting it.

Case Knife of the Week is a chestnut jigged bone Swayback Jack (thanks, Paul). I've had this knife for 9 years, and it still thrills me!

Colonial/Imperial/Schrade Knife of the Week is a 4" Imperial stockman with a Hammer Brand shield (thanks, Tom):

This has been a bit of a grail knife for me. I haven't talked about it much for whatever reason & I was finally able to obtain one! It just came in today 😁

Looks like you're ready to set sail! ⛵️ There are quite a few true gentlemen here on The Porch. Congrats, my man! 👊🏻 That's a stunner!!!

That is a really nice looking Navy Knife JW !
A really cool globe, as well.:thumbsup:😍
Thanks, Mr. P -- I figured the two belonged together. ;)

Not surprising that you like the globe -- what with the critters and all...🤣
