What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

.
cracking photo,where is that?
Thanks Johnny. It’s a property I was working on in the Altamont Pass area in California, basically the hills between the Bay Area and the Valley. The picture is looking back toward the Valley.

As a classic rock guy, you may have heard of the Altamont as the location of The Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, Santana, CSN concert with the Hells Angels that went horribly wrong. Same place.
Like the ram horn!
Thanks David. I got a good one!
Bob’s ridiculously wonderful gift the Cosimo skinner and Jack’s 2019 lamb today.

That skinner is really cool. Quite a nice gift 👍
Case Knife of the Week is a chestnut jigged bone Swayback Jack (thanks, Paul). I've had this knife for 9 years, and it still thrills me!

Colonial/Imperial/Schrade Knife of the Week is a 4" Imperial stockman with a Hammer Brand shield (thanks, Tom):

I love the swayback, Gary. It’s one of Case’s best, in my opinion.

The most memorable tea I have ever had was at Stonehenge on the way from Gatwick to Somerset on my first trip to England. Overnight flight with very little sleep. I felt as if I had been transported to a different world altogether. And we had. Only a few days later we were on the Salisbury Plain working terriers with the Royal Artillery Hunt. Went past Stonehenge again several times though those times in a beat up Land Rover. I'll always love England the way it was then.

My condolences on your loss. Losing a father not easy, I unfortunately know how it can feel. If you ever need anyone to talk to, feel free to message.
Thanks buddy, and all the others trying to cheer me up.

Was a rough day.
I am not a believer, more sort of agnostic.

But on this very day something strange happened.
When I was a small child my father had bees and I remember getting a handfull of honeycomb straight out of the hive while watching him.

While we were standing at the funeral while the coffin is lowered, a huge swarm of wild bees were around the pile if sand from the hole.
First people thought these were some wasps, but I got closer, squatting down, I realized these were actually bees.
Dozens and dozens of them, all around me.
Later when I came back to his grave when the hole was filled, the bees were still there, digging in the sand.

It was so strange and wonderful at the same time.

I am more agnostic myself, but that does seem like the universe (or whatever may be out there) was sending you love on a difficult day. Thank you for sharing that, it sounds like it was a poignant moment.

Thanks for sharing this. Nature is beautiful. I have many more thoughts, but I will leave it at that. I am so thankful that you were given this great memory on the hardest of days.
