Enjoying a great weekend. These kids are growing up! Y’all said they would 😂🥹. Sam crushed it in his opening baseball game. This is his first year playing baseball - it was my sport growing up, but he has never been interested. He’s picked everything up so fast. He got on base twice, one hard hit single, one walk, and caught a deep fly ball in left to seal the game in the last inning. He was high as a kite coming off the field. So proud of him.

And Marcie went to her 8th grade formal dance. Gah. I wasn’t ready for the big girl dress and heels and 😭.

Life is good. I’ve been motoring around with Joseph this morning picking up some new shrubs to plant. I have the day off today and will be getting as dirty as possible.

Track meet tomorrow for Livie. It will be fun to see her crush the competition for one more year in the mile. Next year she moves up a division and will be humbled!

There’s the McD update 😂. Have a blessed Sunday!

Great post, enjoy the special times, the time flies and before you know it they will all be out on their own. All five of ours flew the coop long ago, and I really miss having them around.

The song says it never rains in southern California, but it's a rainy day in central California.
Having resided in Southern Cali in the mid-late 1970's, (Fontana, San Bernardino/Highland/Riverside, and Ontario areas) I can assure you the song by Mr. Berry(?) LIED!

January of 1977 or 1978, we recieved THIRTY EIGHT POINT FIVE INCHES of rain in that month alone!!🤯😳
December, Feburary, and most of March were also rather wet, with double digit inches of rain, tho less than the 38.5 inches of January.
(later that year Arrowhead Mountain burned down. It took pretty much everything north of 40th ave. north with it.)

Central Avenue in San Bernardino (entire length is about 18 to 20 inches lower than the streets that cross it) could have been called "Central River".

I helped my step grandfather pump water from Novak's American Metal Reduction Co., Ontario, CA. (now renamed, with new owners and management after Don retired, or passed (I don't know which, I left Cali in 1980. It was still Novak's when I left. I'm guessing his kids (who worked in the office there) didn't want to take over the family business ... or they did, and later sold it ...) where we were contract fabrication welders (industrial seld dumping scrap/chip bins, also madea few semi trailers to haul scrap to the LA ship yards, and foundries.) and heavy equipment (cranes, end loaders, crusher, and make cars into cubes machine) and truck mechanics (both yard dogs and the road trucks).
Our work area, a slightly low spot (yude not notice it was low) was lost.
We had to remove the two 4 inch hose gas powererd waterpumps (on four stacked mounted 10x20 semi tyers) before they became fully submerged.😳

We had 1 pump the same size attempting to keep the gate house truck scale pumped out enough the electronic sensors didn't get submerged and short out.
(They are a regal royal PIA to change, by the way.🙄 ... Don't ask me "How do you know that?🤔")

In total we had Seven 4 inch hose pumps, Three 6 inch, two 8 inch, and 1 ten inch hose pumps running 24/7.
We were losing.🤯😳🙄

One reason we were losing was the railroad was pumping water from the tracks running paralel to the property onto us ... until step grandfather called the railroad and told them: "Divert your flow, OR I'll wash away your tracks!" He told them what pumps we had and how many, and added "I have plenty of water and hoses for all the pumps to wash your tracks away. Divert your flow in the next hour, or say 'good bye' to your tracks! 😡🤬"

Surprisingly, the railroad diverted their flow inside half an hour. 😳🤣🤣🤣🤣😇
