What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

One from Shayne Carter today...

You, Young Sir, are giving this thing a very strong desire to tote a Daddy Barlow!
Unfortunitally, the closest it has to a traditional Daddy Barlow is a large offshore stag bone Marbles Toothpick. 🤨

It is going to have to find a budget friendly Daddy Barlow ... perhaps a hollow bolster Imperial or Colonial with carbon steel blades or a Rough Ryder with stainless blades?
(It is pretty sure RR didn't produce a Classic Carbon 🥺 or Classic Carbon 2 Daddy Barlow.☹️)

Firstly ...... I ain't young ............ unless you are close to ninety.
Secondly ....... you need a solid bolster to get that "whole lotta knife feel". ;)
How about a Case from the 1970's with Delrin Covers ...... that shouldn't set you back too much ? 🤔
Lastly ...... I'll keep an eye out for something proper for you ....... but, you may have to eat salads at home for a month. 🤣🤣
Your belt will thank you for it and you'll have the big ole Barlow for your remaining days ! 🤣

Nah ... The assisted living facility includes meals. We ain't allowed to cook. (micro wave, toaster oven/toaster, electric skilit/electric griddle, Mr. Coffee (et-al) coffee maker, hot plate ... forget a propane camp stove ... in our room is "a fire hazard" according to the owner.
So's a small automatic switch - off if knocked over up to 1500 Amp electric "Milk Room" heater. ☹️🙄

pneumerically, i b closer to 90 than 47 and under ... 🤔😁
do that count?

physically ...
In 1985 my then current and brand new now ex wife sent me to her chiropractor and orthopedic surgion.

After taking full "body" x-rays and looking at them, he told me (quote)
"You know, Steve? ... Your walking around pretty G.D. good for a guy that's 185 years old!!!" (end quote) I was 35 in 1980.
At that time (unlike now) I did not require a rollator walker nor a cane.
I don't QUITE require a wheelchair 😁👍 ... yet 🤨 ... maybe in another two or three years ☹️🥺😭 ...

I have planned ahead and taken a few steps for that eventuality.

For 1, bcause of my left wrist having virtually no flexability, left arm rougnly only 7 or 8 inches shorter than "normal" (right is only 3 or 4 inches shorter than "normal") using a wheelchair like a "regular" "person"/"human" by rotating the wheels by hand will be ... "difficult" at best ...
I talked to my Doctor, and got a prescription for a powered wheelchair. 😁👍
Medi-Care/SSDI won't spring for it yet ... I can still walk the 70 foot or less internal length of the building. 😁👍

He also told me he had replaced bad hips and knees that were in MUCH better condition than mine. He could not replace mine "until they improve" (I almost asked him "Why? Do you plan on installing them in someone else?")
Since what I have is a genic defect, my knees, hips, (and all other joints), and spine (it resembles the letter "S" from front, rear and sides in the x-rays) will/can only get worse. 🙄

I'll never get new ones. If nothing else, I've heard that while flexibility and strength DO improve, the pain from the operation is a part of your "life" until you leave for the next life.
Having had an operation on my right knee and hip to remove some bone spurs, I am aware of how severe the post op "ow" is.
I'm told "Morphine is not an option until you enter Hospice."
That being the case ... forget it. 🤨.

Love that CJ Barlow!
Carrying the Case marlin spike with me around the house today, keeping it company is a Schrade old timer. Both from great people here on the porch. I dug this old Penn reel out of the shop for a theme pic 😉

Hope y'all have a great Sunday!
