It says "Friction draft gear" on the other side. Apparently a bumper for railroad cars, invented by Cardwell around 1960.
Sorry, I just saw your question. That's the way it came. I have a Case/Bose Premium Stockman in chestnut that is much brighter/redder. There's nothing wrong with the color of the stockman, but I think I like the darker bone on the WC more better.OK ..... I just gotta ask ....... what did you do to that bone ? I haven't ever seen the Chestnut look like that from the factory.
Fantastic Case Bose WT !![]()
Sounds like a lot of fun. When they get older they will look back on these times and smile from the great memories being made.![]()

Hey Porch friends.
Two of our grandchilluns, the Colorado ones, are here for the week. Eight and four 1/2. Love it, but I am tired. Very tired.
Schrade Walden Serpentine Jack, and Victorinox 7/Harvester, but my Hori-Hori and garden fork were the tools of the day.

Now, there's a fun fact to know and share!BTW, the wood on these is from the floor boards of the Plymouth Cordage company which supplied ropes for the whaling industry during the whaling heyday.
That's an awesome looking Maher & Grosh! I love the deep grooved bolsters & shield
Really great pair of pocket knives.
That Lamb is perfect.
