I was thinking the one on the right looks like the wood on my Tasmanian Blackwood fixed blade.

Actually the Katalox is on the left and the other is Tasmanian Blackwood. As SteveC pointed out, I had a senior moment and called it African Blackwood. Sorry for the confusion.

All right then ............ now we know who did the confusing !
