Sounds good to me, Jeff!5K Qs ~ Thank you!
Regarding her 1st guitar lesson, it was all about the mechanics. How to hold it, fret it, pick it, keep your body and arms relaxedβ¦
But once she kinda got that, I got her going on a 3 string, 2 chord blues riff. Get to the fun stuff right away to get her hooked was my theory, not Down In The Valley chord strumming that is in my 1967 edition of Mel Bayβs Beginning Guitar book thatβs going home with her.
I don't have much experience with fixed blades or with small folding knives, but that pair is very handsome!
Couple of vibrant vintage knives; I especially like that spear/pen EO with bail!Stuck in front of a computer for 3 days this week for a couple of project reviews. At least the heat dome has broken and itβs comfortable in our mostly un-air-conditioned lake house. Iβve got the Case 31 and Camillus 33 EO Jack nearby. Just love these patterns.

Blue with a bit of sweat and mango patina, just got the sweet camel bone, going in the pocket right nowView attachment 2599601
Those Horse Rancher clip/spey 39s remind me of the old #15 Farmboys. This blue micarta is wonderful looking in the sun. The etch might be my least favorite GEC etch I've seen, but if I carry it enough it won't be there long.

That's a handsome, shapely Puma, ED!
Lovely lamb, Bob, with a perplexing patina!
Yeah, and I think school is out for me forever, but I still feel an obligation to "go forth and multiply", so it's good to have that knife with the times tables available.Very nice Gary, but it's summertime, school is out.![]()

Is the secondary blade a pen blade?
Habits die hard Gary. We never lose the urge to share knowledge.Lovely lamb, Bob, with a perplexing patina!
I'm not old enough to have listened to the original The Shadow radio broadcasts, but when I was in grad school 50 years ago, a local radio station rebroadcast classic radio programs such as The Shadow, The Lone Ranger, Fibber McGee and Molly, and I think at least 2 more that I can't recall today. I liked that Shadow "tagline".
Yeah, and I think school is out for me forever, but I still feel an obligation to "go forth and multiply", so it's good to have that knife with the times tables available.

Sunday, and not too much planned; just healing from a pulled tooth and follow-up strep throat - groan!
Thought I'd stick this nice, fondle-able Stag Churchill in my pocket today!! What is it about single-spring knives?? (Older pics)View attachment 2603357View attachment 2603358
Congrats on the win John.Whatever you are doing this Sunday people have fun.
I am English so will have to endure another agonising poor England football team performance today (Scotland you are not alone with the pain).![]()
Why is the Forum "Barlow" Bunny knife just so good?![]()
I cleaned the patina of the main blade so I can start again,I love this knife.
My "real Barlows" came out in the Sun for a photoshoot as well, the grass in my garden makes a good backdrop for pics.
These are the First 2 English Barlows I ever bought and my favourites/keepers.
Everyone loves the CJ but I like the IXL as well.
