What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My two new beauties are riding with me today; a Queen Folding Hunter #44 in Bird's Eye Maple and a Northwoods Stag Peanut.

I was figuring to carry this one to my friend's wedding tonight. Once I got it out and looked at it though, it was a cinch to be with me all day!

Today it would be the famous rotten banana bone GEC 66 jack; I think it has found a home here.

Today, I've got the two that are probably my all-time favorite two pocket knives.
Nothing you guys haven't seen before, but I love 'em.

Love that Kabar, Jack! What model number is it? I can't read it.

Thanks pal. Pete gifted it to me, one of my favourites. First time I've ever looked for the pattern number though - 1019! :D

I'm sporting a Kabar as well. I received this little bugger yesterday, which I won at auction. It's TINY! Especially for a stockman pattern...

Toothpick for for size comparison:). The main blade seems to be well sharpened so the tip somewhat sticks out of the liners. I tried grinding a bit of the heel away, but that didn't really help. I don't want to drop the tip since that would ruin the nice clip point. Doesn't bother me that much...

Great-looking little knife  I have a few old knives where the tip is just a little proud.

This one today

Very tasty! ;)

Unrelated, but I will be carrying this one today along with my 72 lockback... Ironwood and O1.

Very nice, strong pattern

Lovely Pete :)

I switched that little Kabar with my modded Opinel. Had some food prep to do, and I used it to cut up my meat as well. That patina is coming along nicely. The stropping afterwards contrasts everything nicely...

Life is good.

man thats a beauty. surprised there arent more folks talking about the sheepsfoot barlow. Very intrigued
and very impressed.

how is it working out for you in an edc role? do you find yourself wishing for a clip/spear instead or even a pen blade? Or is the sheepsfoot doing it all for you?

thanks in advance

So far, it's done everything I need it to do, and it's done it in style. I love straight edged blades and often carry a wharncliffe. I had some reservations about a sheepsfoot only knife but no longer. For an urban EDC it has a lot of advantages. First, no way can anyone mistake it for a weapon. Second, it slices into boxes and blister packs like nobody's business. I need a pocket knife to open my mail, cut up boxes, slice some rope or twine, and cut up limes for gin and tonics. If I really need to stab something, a non-locking folder would not be my first choice anyway. And how many British Army and Naval officers got by just fine with one? Works great for me.
