Thanks for the Birthday wishes everybody :) I grilled some brats and had one with a nice cold beer 🌭 🍺 I hadn't grilled brats in ages. Had I been thinking, I would have taken a nifty photo of them sizzling away on the grill, but I didn't so here's a photo after I've already scarfed one down

Knife and Brats all look great . Sorry to hear that it had been Ages since you last had some brats . In our area Brats are a necessary Staple of life . My wife and I prefer Vidalia Onion Brats that are made locally .

Its not just to many (or not enough) knives you know. 😁

I reckon the Pony Jack is a great, tough, little workshop pocket knife perfect for little cutting tasks.

I bought some tools from the Autojumbleon on Sunday and set squares from Aldi, massive couldnt easily find a spot in my shed for them.

Put some tools in a tool box under the bench to reduce the drawer to the most used tools.

Some like the Snap on pliers I dont need, I just like the build quality and the knurled handles.

The standard pliers are British Army issue, I prefer the slimmer pair which I put shrink wrap on the handle.

The outdoor work bench I built from the left over odds and ends of the military racking used in my shed.

I did have a vice on it but it was starting to rust and got very dirty.

Its used for any dirty jobs and the like, though I always clean it after.

The maintained, tinkering and embellishments thread may have a better answer.

That's unfortunate. I say clean it with some steel wool, oil & elbow grease. Keep the action oiled & keep working it. It may work itself back smooth or at least better. You can also blow it out with compressed air during the cleaning of the action to remove the gunk & rust bits that will come out. Those little duster cans for keyboards can work well if you don't have an air compressor handy.
I do agree with Rufus1949 Rufus1949 about trying the maintenance & tinkering part of the forum. They might have some good ideas about how to go about it. Hope you can get it satisfactory, best of luck 🤞

Not a leather working expert, but I think oil tanned leather is suitable for knives, and chrome tanned leather does what happened to your knife. Getting wet kind of activated a chem reaction. It’s corrosion, so will always be there unless you get aggressive with abrasives. I’d just clean it like other guys suggested, oil it, and toss the sheath.

Thank you all for the suggestions and inputs!
Apparently, I need some professionals to take care of it.
You know, as I said before, every time I disassemble and re-assemble something (anything), there is always parts left on the desk, I cannot recall & image where the those parts belong to.

I haven’t posted in awhile. I’m still carrying the Ultem-covered SAK and the Sodbuster Jr. They cover any needs I seem to have for my summertime chores.

That PEI Ultem makes a nice handle material. I've got one knife with the Ultem handles, and it has a nice warm grippy feel.
I love that Bailey pattern! Every time I see one posted my finger starts itching! One of these days I won't be able to ignore it any longer!

We're supposed to get 3-4" of rain today. I guess I'll find out if our multi-thousand-dollar basement waterproofing project works.
I am carrying this little Ohta today.

Sweet covers on your Ohta Gary.😍 I like the size of his pocket friendly knives.
I hope your renovation withstand mother nature's challenges.

Earlier in the week, Hurricane Debby dumped a bunch of rain where my brother lives, on the West Coast of FL, then our son in South Carolina got a deluge. Now, we're getting the tail end of it, and we have two inches in the rain gauge already this morning. The Buck 110 LT & the Pioneer today.
