I talked to Eric yesterday, and he agrees she's a perfect knife for EDC!!!
I like the old school linen Micarta!!
(Winda is Polish for elevator! pronounced Veen'-Duh!!)
Wow~ great row of 7000s. How did you get fixated on that one? Fishing for river catfish? Around me, that size is a catfish reel. After many years using nothing but a 5000, I bought the 4600. It’s better for me for wading creeks for smallmouth trying to cast smaller jigs and Mepps. The thread wrap always gives the Ugly's away. Post 81 pre China Abu's are like casting a 1960's Ferrari. I've been using/collecting their 7000 series since I was a baby![]()

Thanks much, Gary. If I don’t disremember, you are trying a different cottage/resort this time. Have a great vacation!I spent much of last Friday packing and Saturday traveling, and we're away from home for this week and next. The cottage we're renting has rather unreliable wifi, so I'm a few days behind in this thread. Here are some quotes from Friday and Saturday, mostly. We'll see if I have the time and technology to eventually catch up.
I think that's a handsome canoe! Stainless blades or carbon steel?
I bought one just like it last month. It was advertised as stainless, but the first time I used it produced some patina, which was a pleasant surprise to me.

Beautiful stag swayback!!
Thanks, David. I really like my wood-handled knives, but they're almost all from non-US companies.
Splendid sowbelly!
Striking canoe, Frank; I admire the edge on the spearpoint blade!
Nice knives-in-colander shot, Jeff!
Beautiful bone & bolster, Bob!
Barrett, the "grain" or "thread pattern" or whatever it's called for micarta is outstanding on your GL-24!! An infinity symbol or crazy eight, depending on orientation.
Colorful pair, Jeff; I especially like the "banana Buck"!
Frank, you have a blue cup and a blue canoe.
All you need now is blue suede shoes!
I admire the wood on both, but the oak on your lambsfoot really floats my boat!
I'll bet big cat Elijah would LOVE to stalk a monster truck!
I agree with @Hatchet_Jack, Will! Tough to top your stag Dixie stockman!
Thanks, David!!Winda is a beautifuland good walking companion

Nice pic, Tim!! Waynorth looks good in Black!!!
I have scrolled back several times enjoying these.I guess I have something of a love affair with these "peasant" knives. especially the European/Mediterranean variety, but also others. The Opinel 12 is missing from the picture. Now carrying the second from the bottom. I still miss a ratcheting navaja...

See, this is what I miss about my plain naked alox SAK. The painted ones look fantastic when they’ve been worn in a little. These guys while I’ve been on vacation the past week and a half. View attachment 2641555

Best wishes, Sailor.
Thank you Charlie. Found out that I am more fond of the Ebony after trading my jigged for it. Still a tough choice for an extraordinary piece of cutlery.Nice pic, Tim!! Waynorth looks good in Black!!!
Yes it is Jeff and the burnt jigging is well done.Bob, the jigging looks especially grippy.![]()
I really love this one Bob. The bone is so well done. Is this Cullpepper or does he do his own? Stunning.
Thanks Jon. This is all his creation. Ben is a full time teacher, part time knife maker in Texas.I really love this one Bob. The bone is so well done. Is this Cullpepper or does he do his own? Stunning.
I also love the shield. Lookin’ sharp.
While I love Bill's jigging, I'm fond of the Ebony also!! Nothing like fine instrument-grade Gabon!!Thank you Charlie. Found out that I am more fond of the Ebony after trading my jigged for it. Still a tough choice for an extraordinary piece of cutlery.
