Does anyone know why my options for posting pictures and links are grayed out and how to fix it? I've never had this happen. Any help appreciated.

Did it happen after the server migration? There's been a few issues since then. You could also post in the tech support thread & maybe get some better answers there.

Either way I hope you can get it straightened out.

The Mini Copper is a really useful carry. Fine guests dining in your garden today, your service must be top rate :D Only ever seen a Black Squirrel once and that was in Germany. Here, the Reds' coats get greyer during the winter and I have seen a pure White but I don't think it was an Albino.

Keep them well fed!

Thanks, Will

Thanks Will :)

First time I was able to get so close to a black squirrel ... with a pocket knife in hand lol 😊.
Here the red squirrels are smaller than the "normal" ones and are quite the feisty hyperactive little things.
The "normal" ones come in a variety of colors.

This mini copperlock is quite the special knife for me.

Every time I go to the USA I get tempted to buy a traditional knife "in person" at a store.
I mean, what could be more traditional than that right ?

As I really don't "need" another knife I was able to resist temptation up until my last trip LOL

I had taken my daughter to Syracuse for a medical appointment with the surgeon that operated on her knee after a serious injury.
We received great news that her knee had healed very well and that she is going to be fine.
THis was a really big relief for her.

On our trip back she suggested we stop to eat at a restaurant in Watertown.
We had a great time and a really good meal made all the better by the good news from the doctor.

As we left the restaurant I saw the Tractor Supply store down the street ... and the rest is history :)
My daughter took a couple selfies of us while holding the mini copperlock in front of the store.
Next week she flies far away to start her 3 year of college. I miss her already.

Today I sharpened it at 15 degrees and gave it a mirror bevel :)

edit:
I found a pic from a while ago of what I am almost sure is the smaller "Red Squirrel"

I'll add to the gasps of appreciation, a really fine job, you must have been working as a professional restorer for museums :D Joking apart, it's a superb bit of work that shows off a beautiful vintage piece to its best. I'm certainly not of the "leave 'em rusting in their authenticity skool " This is preservation and enhancement, not making it look new but making it look beautiful in use, a tribute to those who made it and carried it no less:thumbsup: And that Spear...just D.....😻🐾

Thanks, Will

Thank you Will. Sometimes I think that our train of thought runs down the same tracks .............. which might not be so good for you ! 🤣

Absolutely gorgeous knife!!
👍😍😍👍
John 😁
Wow! What a beautiful knife, that jigging, that beautifully swedged spear and that great history lesson. Thanks Mr. P!

Thank you fellers ...... I had been waiting on a nice knife from that company for a long while. I think I found it.:thumbsup:😊

I'll bet big cat Elijah would LOVE to stalk a monster truck!

He already did stalk it ............ how did you know ?! 🤔🤔🤔🤣

Thanks Gary.
It sounds like you found a little slice of heaven up there. Enjoy.
Thanks much, Gary. If I don’t disremember, you are trying a different cottage/resort this time. Have a great vacation!
Thanks, Bob & Jeff. :)
Jeff, your memory is correct. Here's an aerial photo of the place we're staying this week and next; I found it on their website.

The owner's house is the big one, front and center, farthest to the right on the skinny peninsula. All the other buildings on the peninsula, to the left and then going back toward the main road, are rental units. We're staying in the little cottage just to the right of the 2-story cottage. (For the past 30+ years, we rented the blue cottage at the start of the dock sticking out into the "lagoon" behind the peninsula.)

Here's a photo of a Mora Basic 511 that I bought last month and took with me for the trip.
Oops! Looks like I can't get wifi to cooperate with me in posting a photo; tried 3 different methods, each multiple times, and no joy. :(
Guess I'll try again tomorrow.
OK, better luck this morning:

(Our "old cottage" from previous decades is in the background across the water, above where blade meets handle on the Mora.)

You're at the limit for attachments and need to delete a couple hundred older attachments before you can post more?

For Wednesday, a Walden Knife Company " Boys Knife " ( circa 1874-1926 ) at 3.25 inches closed, which makes it a fantastic watch pocket size. Small, but, mighty with iron bolster and liners, which give it a weight of some larger knives. For those of you that might not know the history of this company, it all started after a bad call during a lunch hour baseball game at the New York Knife Company. It was reported that some of the ladies summoned the owner ( Thomas Bradley ) to calm things down, which he promptly did. He later passed on the bad news that baseball was prohibited at lunch time, prompting some of his most highly skilled cutlers to resign and start their own knife company down river. The Walden Knife Company was born and went on to produce many contract knives, including being the home of E.C. Simmons "Keen Kutter" knives. I believe that they likely produced a few of my John Primble India Steel Works knives, as well. I'm a bit partial to the pile side bone on this knife. 😊

What a gem, Mr. P!!! 😍

I have a sharpener like that.
The manual says add 15° to whatever the angle finder says.
The base angle at the clamp is 15°
You're "sharpening" to 30 DPS/60 degrees (+/- the angle changes along the length of the blade.) inclusive.

To sharpen to my preferred angle I would need the angle finder at -5°, which isn't possible and still clear the clamp. Zero on the angle finder does not claer the clamp.
Fortunitally, I can use the stones, stone holder and rod on another guided rod sharpener that has a "10°" slot. (angle finder says 9 to 12° depending where along the edge.🙄)

Nice Case Copperhead.

I zero it on the incline at the base which is exactly parallel to the jaws holding the knife.

The 15 degrees is measured per side (or 30 degrees inclusive)

The sharpener is 3d printed from downloaded files an assembled at home.

I can go even lower than 15 degrees per side however I am happy between 15 to 17 degrees per side for traditionals

Thanks. I think I have close to 60. 7000's come in handy for the extra line capacity in big water.
We use'em for red drum/small sharks in the obx and for cats and striper in the Ohio and Tenn rivers. In the early 2000's Abu moved all reel manafacturing except for the 6500's to Taiwan for a few years and then to China.

Theres nothing better than wading for smallmouth. You should checkout the Bomber 4F crawdad crankbait. They're stone cold killers. They were discontinued 10+ years ago and Bomber brought them back with the 3F for a Walmart promo. They always have them loose in boxes on the bottom shelf of the fishing isle. If you can't find them shoot me a message and I'll send you a few. It's been the only lure I use when we wade for the last 20 years.
Thanks, my friend, but I do have some of those Crankbaits.
Funny how we just settle in with something that we figure out and it just becomes The ONE.
For me, that’s a #2 or 3 Mepps Aglia Squirrel tail.
