Managed to round the edge while stropping tired last night, so retouched it this morning and in the pocket went. It's about to go on kitchen duty, Sunday dinner to prep and all that jazz.

Came back of a third or fourth gawk at this beauty and just noticed how the bolsters and covers are dovetailed...stunningly beautiful knife you have there:thumbup:

I had to check the pattern descriptions and it is a 6318 for sure. It measures 3.5". What does the "HE" signify?

Thanks a lot. I am so happy with it. The main was pretty wiggly but I sorted that out. The tip of the sheepsfoot has been rounded so that it almost resembles a spey.

I actually saw this knife in an antique store in the toney part of town about a month ago and grabbed a Schrade Walden splitback whittler instead. But this one kept calling me. The seller quizzed me about why I wanted it - like a whole battery of questions. It was weird.

HE denotes a sheepsfoot and pen as secondary blades. PE denotes a spey and pen as secondary blades. For instance, this 9 dot 087PE I carried today. I assume that letter suffix system only applies to some patterns, but I'm in need of further education.

And that is weird he gave you the third degree to buy an old knife.

Indeed, that's what HE and PE denote. What HE and PE actually mean though, I have no idea whatsoever.

Posting off my Satsuma Yoki today, thought it made a good composition with the days carry, my #53....

Dennis the Menace album + catapult  Made my day.

Do higos fit in the traditional category? This one is in the kitchen with me today, it's a beautiful slicer.

Why yes, yes they do. Could uh, you PM me where you acquired that beauty? :D
I have always wanted one, but the handles always looked so plain.
