What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It's a Hanwei/Rock Creek, which were also made with stag handles. Been discontinued since the factory burned down, but I managed to grab one on ebay a little while back.

Here's an older pic showing the secondary blade.

felt like having something bright in my pocket on yet another dreary day...

That is a beautiful Great Eastern 72! I really hope they do another run of the stainless 72s. I would like my first stainless GEC to be that pattern.

Beautiful knife and photo!

Easing back in to traditionals until I get one from Brent Cramer I just bought here on the forum, a simple No 6 Carbon Opinel that has a lacquer job done up like a lot of these boutique axe makers do now (Base camp X, Best made Co.) it was a result of when I was home under the weather and had cabin fever bad so this is what I puttered around with to take my mind off of feeling lousy. Kind of fun, gives it that trades look a little.

Thanks Mikel. To be honest I ordered this one with some hesitation, but after several weeks of carry, it has become a favorite and one of the big three in my rotation that gets paired up with the Pemberton.

As to the style of jigging, I'll defer to some of the experts here. Thanks again Mikel!

It's been a while since I've carried an Opinel, but all the recent talk and photos got to me. I have this N[SUP]o[/SUP] 08 with olive wood handle in my pocket today.

And this, boys and girls, is why we don't put ebony knives through the dishwasher.

Psst. You have an owl on your roof. (Nice TC)

Thanks, sitflyer; liamstrain, I sure wish that were my roof!

The owl's head had some sort of mechanized timer, and swiveled every so often.

(, for that first time.)

I took those pictures in the cupola roughly mid-picture:

Hmmm. Okay, here:

The Workhorse again, again today:

I was away for the better part of a week; while I had other knives with me for morale, I carried the Workhorse and the TC Barlow only. The Barlow is a proven, beloved default, but the Workhorse continues to be a revelation -- in blade selection, in comfort in hand and in pocket, and in how unreasonably happy it makes me. :)
