Nice! You still got some good pics despite the wind issuesToday we spent about 4 hours at the Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge in East Lake, North Carolina. Unfortunately we never saw any gators, but we did see two nice sized black bears——one sleeping in the top of a 40’ pine tree and the other bolting across the road in front of us into a canal and out the other side! After we ate this evening we drove out to the Bodie Island Light Station so I could get my usual pic for this thread, but the wind was blowing so hard my knife kept falling over, so this is the best I could do.![]()

Dang it! For a second, I thought Swiss Army dropped a lambsfoot.
Breaking this #32 in today.

Really like the looks.
Hi Bob,Really like the looks.J-M, do you know the original purpose of that design?
Thanks so much for the explanation. I had a feeling it was a sailors tool.Hi Bob,
The first troops France sent to its colonies were naval troops. I think that explains why the blade is shaped like a sailor's knife.
The knife was used for everything. The absence of a point to protect the sailor when the boat is rocking also makes it impossible for soldiers to fight each other.

Congrats on finding that treasure trove.A rare midweek estate sale with no pictures of knives or tools (my collecting focus) turned into a knife bonanza.
Here’s the group shot …

Four nice Case knives. A 6202-1/2 from 1972, a Stockman from 2002, a Doctor’s Knife from 2001, and an Eisenhower from 1940-64. The Eisenhower needs a good cleaning, but was the real prize in a $5 box!!

Two very minty Gerbers. A PK-1 in the original box and a Sportsman (?) with its sheath.

Two large fixes blades with sheaths. A Schrade 165 Deerhunter and a Kabar 1207 Bowie. Both in really nice condition.

At the bottom of the group shot is a Queen #26 Stockman, Boker USA Stockman, and an early Leatherman Micra. At the top is a German-made, by NY labeled straight razor.
Very nice horn!
Thanks for the Tuesday market report Barrett.I’ve been loving all the pics of the 2024 Guardians knives in this thread recently. (Sorry, I can’t quote ‘em all, so I just had to grab the most recent few I saw).
I’ve had mine in my pocket for the last couple weeks. Things got a little crowded today when I added both of the girls’ knives. Eleanor had her first day of 3rd grade, and Scout had her first day back at preschool, so I figured I should carry their special knives, but I couldn’t kick the GL-24 out of my pocket.

I used some of my extra free time to check out Ax-Man Surplus in St. Paul. Quite a place. More pics here in the Guardians thread.
