What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Pocketing my Late fathers EDC that he carried for many years. Little 525x Buck. I think he would have been happy to make todays trip with me, going to purchase a used Marlin 1894c carbine that I have had my eye on.

Great knife and a nice marlin by the sounds. Are you a hunter?
Thanks! I hope so on the Marlin, it was made in the last year or so before the group that owned Remington at the time purchased Marlin. Discussion as to quality but I think this one should be good.

I do enjoy spending time deer and turkey hunting on my habitat restoration land and wanted to add a light weight carbine (357 mag) as an extra deer camp rifle but more of a fun gun for me. I also have built a nice range and figure with being able to fire 38 special also this would be fun little rifle when spending time on the range.

I do recall reading about that when I was looking for a lever gun. I wanted a marlin but ended up with an old Winchester - does the job.

Sounds like a lot of fun to me anyway mate, and after all that’s what it’s all about. Mind you those guns are all a bit advanced for me. I’m a flintlock shooter through and through, still not convinced these breechloaders will ever really catch on 😉

Nice little Buck. It's pretty cool you have your father's personal carry & even better you have it in pocket. I'm sure you have great memories of him with it.

They are great little guns, really light & handy. Loading them with .38's is almost too much fun for an afternoon of plinking. Especially for new or younger shooters. I couldn't keep my my reloading stocked up enough when we took my friends sons & daughter out to the range.

I have that same model Citizen's watch. I used to check it with the USNO clock the first of every month, and it was usually only off by about 20 seconds per month.

Seems to be a good value watch for sure. I am pleased with the time accuracy also! Wish they would have used a sapphire crystal instead of a mineral but otherwise Its all good. I gravitate toward automatics but in all reality this watch is probably a better choice for everyday use.

Lacey has been through a lot in the last two and half years:
  • Knee surgery to fix her left knee
  • Hematoma in her right ear
  • Hematoma in her left ear (both ears used to be pointy but now they flop over)
  • Jaw surgery removing the tip of her jaw and the front row of teeth to eliminate a cancerous growth
  • Knee surgery to fix her right knee
  • And now it looks like the right knee surgery didn't quite work, so we're looking at a second operation (and a slight possibility that there will be a follow-up surgery to that follow-up surgery)
And yet she remains cheerful and seems to be having fun. She does need me to stop typing on this dumb phone, though - it's foodie time, Dad!
