What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

A new addition. I need another knife like I need a hole in my head. I couldn't help myself!

Capuchadou? 12mm? Would love to see it open Gary. It’s the pinnacle of Fontenille-Pataud’s talent.

Looks like the pickup can be salvaged. A "new" used box from the salage yard ... maybe the cab (I can't see if it was damaged) from one that had a frontal inpact, if necessary.

One of my classmates in autobody repair in the mid 1970's bought a '72 or '73 2WD Ford F250 that had been totalled, from the insurance company.
The frame was bent and twisted. He replaced the frame, running gear, and box with the frame, running gear, and box from a same year 4x4 F250.
When finished, he had less invested than the same used 4x4 truck would cost at a dealership. He gave it a black cherry metallic paint job, "just because" and to be different.

Was the tractor the recipiant of more than scratches, and maybe a bent hydrolic control arm?

Nice HJ.
Thanks Steve. That HJ has quickly become a favorite of mine 👍

That's an interesting story about your classmate & the F250. Unfortunately it's not that easy anymore. Parts cars are bringing in a pretty penny nowadays.
I have done similar before though. Years ago I had a 1998 Chevy 4x4 pickup that I got when I got out of high school. It was a few years old at that point & started to burn oil in between changes. I was going to pull the motor to rebuild but as luck would have it, my cousin was close friends with the owner of a junkyard & towing service.
Well guess what they had just got in... The exact same model truck that was totaled in the rear. It had just over 50k miles on it. So of course I got it from them after talking to the guy. Long story short I got a full low mileage motor for less than rebuilding the old one. Swapped them out in a weekend.

As for the tractor it was ok, just minor damage luckily. The front lift and bush hog were already sitting on the ground so it helped hold the weight up & acted like a brace.

Three great utilitarian knives, Jeff.👍🏻
Appreciate that, Mr. Bob.

Tier One gettin it done🤙

I have some good memories of roaming junkyards getting pieces I needed. Never an entire engine, but spindles, wiper motors, pulleys, starters… best part was just poking around. Carry a tool belt with tools, and pay a few bucks for your treasures on your way out.
Cash For Clunkers destroyed the used car parts world.

must be nice.

One of my now late uncles used to say : "Cold is better! You can always put on more clothes!"
(yes. he never met that beeeeeeee itch, "Mr." Arthur Ryetis.)
I disagreed with him, and pointed out he was mistaken:
You CAN reach a point where you can't put more clothes on. They won't fit over what you already have on!
On the other hoof, when it is hot, you can always get in the shower, bathtub, municipal swinming pool, or the local river/stream/pond/lake. 😇👍
Also, that beeeeeee itch Arthur don't visit as often whan it is hot.

Getting cold (and more painfuler) here in South Central Idaho. 🥺👎
Nothing nice about over 120 straight days of 100+ degrees, just freaking tiring, it was 117 last saturday, water in the pools, showers is freaking hot, only beer helps, believe me😜😜😜😎😎
